Just remember that for many of us, maxing out busses has nothing to do with our mixing technique. We max out the busses because we have to print stems, which is the client's...

One other note on this thread: pretty much anyone working in post has run up against the 32 bus limit. You need to split out VO, dialogue, music, SFX, and sometimes M&E, so including your full mix...

I often run out of busses in the first 5 minutes of mixing. I mix score for film and TV, and composers need stems. Even for a session with only, say, 40 tracks, I often am splitting the final mix...
