I can report no problems with PT 12.8.2 HD using OS Sierra 10.12.6 on a mid-2010 MacPro.

No GUI lag at all (which I think is more related to older OS-versions like ElCrap especially).

I'm on a mid-2010 MacPro, Sierra 10.12.1, PT12.6.1 HD, Logic Pro X 10.2.4 and all works!!! No GUI-lag, no error messages etc.
