I would say that the 2940 and the Atto don't like each other..
I used to run Atto cards in 9600s...they were fine so long as I used earlier v1.1.1 firmware
in the Attos..
Atto and FWB...

These errors are usually due to the data tranfer settings on your SCSI card........
I presume that you have an Atto fast/wide PCI SCSI card in your G4.....

Jim is right with regard to the SCSI card, the higher data-transfer rates will produce "Too much activity on the PCI buss" errors. The card will need to be choked down to the 20/10 setting.

Please elucidate. I run rigs with one interface on the core and another on the farm all the time, with no problems. My post was regarding the use of pre-5.1 PT with 5-slot G4s.
