It'll work, just use the tiger installer for the archive and install after restoring the image on the G5. And don't forget to repair permissions as the last step.

What I would do is boot off of your OS install dsic on the G4, go to disk utility and make a disk image of your system drive to another drive (portable firewire drive would be easiest) Next boot your...

I didn't find the David Franz book particularly helpful with the actual "how to's" of ProTools. Read the reference, learn the shortcuts and just use it. I would reacommend learning general recording...

Well I know Mac OS X can read NTFS formatted drives, and I know OS X 10.4 can read/write to them no problem... now does that mean PT can record to it on the mac side? I don't know but you could try...

I just tried this out with my ADAT HD24 and it works just fine... And here I thought I was going to need to get some sort of ADAT sync to MTC device and DV toolkit to slave PT LE to my hard disk......

You need some sort of sound module to run the MIDI thru, you can use something like sampletank, reason, or an external module like an alesis D4 or something. You just need something with drum sounds...

are you positive that it's dvi? adc looks an awful lot like dvi, but its a bit wider and has slightly rounded ends... make sure it's dvi before you buy the adaptor.

That depends, does it have 2 ports? My 933 G4 has a VGA and ADC port, and with the right adaptor I've run 2 monitors. SO if it has 2 ports then yes you can run 2 monitors (most likely with adaptors)

Try this. You have your vox track coming in on say Analog 1, out on Analog 1-2, put a send on that track on Analog 3-4, turn the send level up. Connect output 3-4 to the inputs on you reverb unit....

boot off your OS X CD, then choose the archive and install in the options. THis will only reinstall the OS and not format the drive. THen go to apple's website and search in the downloads for 10.3.2...
