Exactly, using it as an insert on the track.

Yeah - the thing with manual mode (and perhaps I'm totally wrong here) but it seems to me that it adapts to the noise profile better in "auto" mode...

I've got a film that has nasty high-frequency hiss on all the RF lav mics (it comes from a bad RF signal I think? It pumps with the signal level).

I'm running 8.0.4 on a 2x3ghz Xeon MP, running 10.6.6

Using waves plugins has become next to impossible. When activated the visual interface completely wigs-out. It flickers frantically....
