Re: Will Pro Tools 7.4 run on a 2015 Mac?

I have a PowerMac G4 that can run Tiger, it also has MIX3 cards in it. However I think shipping cost and customs are prohibitive

Re: Changing session sample rate

That's what I use when I have started in different sampling rate and just wish to import something. But I guess Save Copy In is easier for just changing sampling rate.

Tiger (PT 7.4) or Leopard (PT 7.4.2) required and as you guessed, old Mac needed

Re: New Mac Pro (7.1)

Okay then, misunderstood you. The rack rails certainly *look* like they are short enough

Re: Importing Audio vs Session Data

Maybe. Depends how many files are out there. If just a few, fixing the session is faster. IF most of the files are on externals however, Save Copy In is very straightforward

Re: Alternative to Antares?

I have my antarestech.com account for sale in the buy&sell subforum in case someone is interested. For some reason just got fed up with the company and want to get rid of them. Reasonable offers as...

Re: Avid scorch iOS

Just heard (from project manager) that Scorch has always been paid app, so my bad -- just remembered it wrong. Time to ask Apple why Scorch isn't on my previously downloaded apps list...

Re: Importing Audio vs Session Data

Sure, that's a quick and dirty way of doing that. Of course, a new file is created with a new ID but who cares, gets the job done. What I suggested brings in the whole original audio with few clicks.

Re: New Mac Pro (7.1)

The rail is in three pieces so I would be very surprised if it cannot fit sub-24" rack

Re: New Mac Pro (7.1)

Well I wouldn't know but if that is the case then you absolutely need to buy rack as per Apple specification. FWIW, every single rack installation I have made have had adjustable rack rails. Would be...

Re: Importing Audio vs Session Data

Copy without copying? Not that I know of.

But if you did copy the audio file(s) to your session folder and disconnected the original source drive, then next time you open session it says this and...

Re: APFS or Extended Journaled for session drive?

True. Even the "destrcuctive" audiosuite processing creates a new file. Or consolidate. Nothing modifies the old file, which you can of course get rid of once it becomes unnecessary (though I never...

Re: New Mac Pro (7.1)

No, but I cannot see a problem -- it is only 1cm over and rack back door usually has few cm extra space you can use (though probably need to remove cables when closing the door)

Re: Which ilok do I need.

Umm.. the key works with new systems too, but many of the licenses, such as PT, are not allowed in iLok1 any longer so THAT is why you need a new version.

Re: Help! Pre clipping in track but not master.. are we cool?

Hi, welcome to the community.

If you clip your A/D conversion there is no way you can fix it later, so yes, you need to pay attention. What do you mean with "orange clipping" though? Can you tell...

Re: DigiLink I/O thing ???

Open the PT Perpetual Bundle to see what is inside. That little triangle on the left.

EDIT: oh, it must be standard software as it only has 4 licenses
