2019.5 on Windows 1903

In case anyone is wondering, it would appear that all is good with the upcoming version of Windows 10. I am running 2019.5 on Windows 10 1903 without issue at the moment.

Re: Pro Tools 2019 !

May is a dumpster fire for me time wise. Subsequently I don't have any projects I am working on until June. Therefore I will probably be an early adopter.

Re: NEW REWARD: Music production tips from Quincy Jones

I haven't found a use for any of these freebies. I do understand that others may love them. I typically record and mix performances by instrumentalists and vocalists.

Re: Pro Tools 2019 !

IDK some of the newer plugs are really processor hungry.

Re: Pro Tools 2019 !

And closing this thread is going to do what for internet civility? I think it should live on, even though you personally disagree with it. The reason it should live on, is because there are people at...

Re: Pro Tools 2019 !

Excuse my naivete, but PT can't use 10+ cores? I didn't know that. That seems excessively lame. If this is true, I am glad I went for an 8 core machine for my computer refresh. Granted that...

Re: Pro Tools 2019 !

Yep like I said earlier, that is my primary complaint. The punitive reinstatement fee. It is designed to entrap. Without it, we would be free to drop out when they can't deliver, which clearly is...

Re: Pro Tools 2019 !

I paid my yearly renewal early this year thinking something was right around the corner and I wanted to stay in the good graces of AVID. It is becoming tempting, bordering on fiscally advantageous,...

Re: Pro Tools 2019 !

That isn't how they get into your machine. Spear Phishing or watering hole attacks are far more likely. Don't use your production machine to check your email, do your banking, or web surfing.

Re: Is it 2019.3 or 2019.4 ?

I paid for another year of vanilla updates last week, so I am hoping we see something soon.

Re: Question for Win 10 Pro Tools 2018 users...

M$ will provide NVidia drivers, but they are typically on the old side. They will also provide drivers to some other hardware, like sound, but that can have problems. I typically update all the...

Re: Pro tools 2019 !

I haven't had stability issues in general since version 7, but I don't do VIs and I tend to keep my buffers above 128. I can remember two builds, in version 10 or 11, where I had issues. That was...

Re: C'mon Man!!!! (Pro Tools and Hyperthreading)

I have run PT on both platforms for years, including self build PCs and have always run with HT enabled. I don't do hackintosh but it sounds like a hardware or driver issue to me.

Avoiding...

Re: Pro tools 2019 !

I switched to a windows machine a couple years ago. Rock solid performance. At the time I spent about 2700 on a machine that would have cost me more than 9000.00 on a Mac Pro with similar...

Re: Mac Pro 5,1 2009 with Xeon 12-core a good choice?

Re: Mac Pro 5,1 2009 with Xeon 12-core a good choice?

I don't want to start a flame-war, but this IMHO is why apple killed the mac pro in the tower form. Those late dual proc cheesegraters are still excellent and viable machines via upgrades. It is hard...

Re: Mind blown with PT 2018 automation timing, no other DAW can do it

Well call me naive, but since I haven't used that many DAWs I didn't know that was a limitation on other platforms. I use plugin automation in PT e x t e n s i v e l y.

Re: Has 4K display scaling been fixed?

I am using a Samsung 50" 4k for a display. Works fantastic, especially since I mix ITB.
