I have the exact same issue. I have PLENTY OF RAM (64G) and using a super powerful mac trash can.. with PT 2018.12.0 I have an Avid support case open. They don't have a clue of what's going on......

on the TRANSPORT display.. ENABLE the CLICK/METRONOME (if grayed out).. I had the same issue and drove me nuts until I figure this out... hope this helps

I have been going back and forth with Avid on the exact same issue.. They are CLUELESS!! and all of my gear is under warranty. It's all brand new. I only use my NEW Mac Pro JUST FOR PRO TOOLS.....

Like I said before, this is NOT likely to be related to any sync issues... as its a "spotty" issue... sometimes it happens, and then sometimes it doesn't.. without changing ANY of the settings and...

The new Mac Pro (round tubular one - black) has no room for ANY cards... you need an EXTERNAL expansion chassis to be able to install PT cards... that's why

Does it make a difference whether I connect the second interface in a "daisy chain fashion" instead of connecting it directly to my HDX card? What's the difference? I know it can be done either way.....

I have a C24, paired with an HD I/O and HDX PCI Card, running Protools 11.
This is my original setup.

Thanks man! So, sounds like you have what I have. My HD I/O is also an expanded 16x16... and I wanted to get the 192 so I can have an additional 16 inputs .. As I don't care much about the HD...

I have PT11 HD and a 16/16 HD I/O Unit.. thinking about purchasing an older 192 I/O to add analog capability ... is the 192 I/O compatible with PT11 HD? is it going to be recognized?
