Separate OS9/ PT5 Forum?

The current state of the DUC seems to indicate that the transition to OSX is pretty complete.
Most posts seem to be about OSX and PT6 and OS9/ PT5.1 is not considered a "legacy" product yet. As an...

Re: Volume Control of an IAC bus

The answer from Native Instruments is that you must teach each Kontakt instrument to repond to midi volume (cc7) info.
"You could control the volume knob in each instruments amplifier module by...

Volume Control of an IAC bus

I am trying to control the volume of midi channels in PT5.1 with each midi track going through an IAC bus to an aux track with Kontakt and Direct Connect. The volume fader has no effect. If I...

Re: flute to midi

I have tested the Roland VP70 for flute (pitch) to midi and find it less than acceptable.
It is good for an effect (i.e. pitch shifting and triggering midi modules) but does not respond to the...

Re: flute to midi

Jason- Thanks for the good info. I am trying to use my flute as a midi controller rather than a keyboard. I have tried the Yamaha wind controller and found it too different from my flute to be...

flute to midi

I am looking for a device that would let me use my flute as a midi input.
I know the Roland VP-70 voice professor could do this - and the IVL Pitchfider - but both are no longer made or supported. ...

Re: OT: Air cleaners

We have been using the Sharper Image Ionic Breeze Quadra for the past 4 years with great success. Totally quiet and easy to clean.

Re: How do I SYNC PT with my MPC or another sequencer?

What is you setup? The midi interface that the MPC is connected to should appear in the Midi Beat Clock menu in PT. You then have to select that same interface on the midi track output in PT.

Re: How do I SYNC PT with my MPC or another sequencer?

In PT, under Midi, enable Midi beat clock on the correct bus or device (i.e. MPC). In MPC, enable midi beat clock on the same port as specified in PT.

Re: CD inkjet printers

Those printers look great but they are several thousand dollars. The Epson 960 is $350 and the Epson 900 is $199. That's why I am curious how well they work. [email protected]

Is it worth adding an improved front end (i.e. Rosetta) to an AM III card or should I get an Mbox and add the improved front end? I only record one instrument at a time, so there is no need for...

Re: AM III upgrade

Thanks. The AMIII card is 18 bit in its Analog to Digital conversion, but 24 bit with the spdf in, so I guess there is no advantage to the Mbox over the AMIII card except portability, if I am going...

Re: ProTools & 3rd Party Audio Input?

Digi hardware is a must to run any version of ProTools except ProTools Free (uses Apple Sound Manager). I believe the Midi features are pretty much the same in all versions.

trouble installing 32T beta

Re: Import OMF file to PT. How?

Re: Channel Strip on Stereo Master Fader

Solved it! In the plug in window, the "key" input has to assigned to a bus (it defaults to no key). This does not seem to necessary with other master plug ins.
