Yeah I know we're on PT 9.0.6 in OSX 10.6.8 here but I saw several posts in this thread from PT 9 users that were complaining about the same audio drop outs with the addition of ADC problems....

PJ - What I Mean: Starting in 2005 a latency test routine has been part of the curriculum. AES has consistently had less latency than SPDIF on our system.

We are seeing this same issue on both DAW's. The PT9 HD native with waves diamond, McDSP, Sonnox, Melodyne AND also with a PT9 DAW with NO 3rd PARTY PLUGINS.

My experience with SPDIF is that it is highly buffered as a data protocol. AES/EBU has much less latency. I suspect those of you using SPDIF with a 3rd party A/D converter are suffering...

Put your channel automation into "trim" mode. Stops all the fader noise when doing your final critical listen and you can do a dynamic mix.
