Re: Is the Coronavirus pandemic affecting your business?

Is it going to affect our business...

Re: I doubled my RAM...didn't do much

If you haven't already, set some of those 16gb memory to be used as disk cache in PT so that it loads session into the ram. 5 or 10 gb maybe. That might help PT feel snappier.
As said before, enough...

Re: Pro Tools 9 & M-Audio Fast Track Pro

Welcome to the forum. Aswell as reading the Helpushelpyou, you should explain clearly what happens. What are you recording? What type of track? Input/output settings of that track. And so on. Have...

Re: Strange Error Message When Opening PT

Your screenshot is impossible to read.
To capture just a part of the screen:
Shift-cmnd-4 and drag the crosshairs across part of the screen.

Re: I think I can use an ssd in my old cheesegrater

Me too. :D
I've done this aswell.
Stuck a empty matchbox under it for support, and it worked fine for a couple of years.

Re: Command8 fader replacement

Another option you could consider is getting a used Command8, perhaps even partially defect, for spare parts. I got a fully fuctional one for just $130 last year.

Re: Can not get signal into PT

Hi, golli.
I have no experience w/UA hardware, but since no one is contributing here, I'll take a shot:
It looks like PT is recognizing your I/O's from your screenshots.
What about UA software?...

Re: Sans Amp PSA-1 causing trouble

I'm pretty shure it's in the "Help us help you", top of this page.

Re: MIDI start/reset command

It's been 20+ years since I worked with stuff like this, my memory isn't what it was, but I remember a thing called "Song position pointer". A part of MIDI protocol, and I know I made use of it....

Re: Sans Amp PSA-1 causing trouble

This is just a hunch: I know I read about sansamp plugin having sound quality issues, and I seem to remember something about it working in 16 bits and chopping off 24 bit samples. And that people had...

Re: Focusrite 18i8, iMac High Sierra, Midi keyboard

Re: Focusrite 18i8, iMac High Sierra, Midi keyboard

I'm sorry, I should have pointed out; the piano will not show up in track input selectors. It's a midi controller, and the clue is to select the midi- or instrument track you want it to control.

...

Re: Focusrite 18i8, iMac High Sierra, Midi keyboard

Like I said earlier; unless something is faulty, it should be automatically recognized by PT. Plug it in (the keyboard), restart pro tools, make a instrument track, insert a instrument plugin on it...

Re: Press play and nothing happens...still

Still, the issue described is real. I've seen it discussed here, but that was a long time ago. I had it myself, with PT8 I think, and had to just live with it until a update of some sort fixed it. I...

Re: Focusrite 18i8, iMac High Sierra, Midi keyboard

Just insert one of the plugins you find under the "Instruments" sub-menu. Like XPand.

Re: Focusrite 18i8, iMac High Sierra, Midi keyboard

First, the keyboard is not a HUI controller, it's a midi device and it should be connected to the computer (not the interface) by USB.

PT should detect it automatically, and if you create a...
