The tracks within Folder tracks will show as normal tracks when you go to an older version of Pro Tools, you don't lose them so you're fine.

Beyond 6 gets you more AAX Native plugin instances too. Won't comment on VIs as that's not my area of expertise (If I have any area of expertise).
