Re: Folder Feature Requests

Didn't go through the whole thread, so I might be partly echoing other people's gripes here..

If I'm not mistaking, currently:
Folder tracks and their children are 'glued' together and need to be...

Re: Will native PT(ultimate) ever gets Delay Comp in Sidechains?

FYI: PT-218498

That’s the code I got for this issue.
I believe it relates to multichannel side chains but is also connected to ADC.
They said it had critical status at the time it was given to...

Re: Will native PT(ultimate) ever gets Delay Comp in Sidechains?

ideascale has moved to avid link for now, AFAIK and it sucks.

as far as I know they are currently working on ADC sidechains and or mutlichannel side chains but no ETA given.
It's something...

Re: What is in store for PT in 2021?

ADC on sidechains and multichannel sidechains or perhaps only one of those.

Re: Avid will announce new DSP product(s) next week!

So Avid have kind of done what UAD should’ve done a long time ago, certainly with Luna. Being able to use DSP when you want, but basically running natively and allowing for your plugins to run on DSP...

Re: Avid will announce new DSP product(s) next week!

I’m not sure about the exact numbers, but I believe the round trip latency of those silver face Apollo’s was pretty poor on FW.
I seem to remember there was some furore about the TB card for that...

Re: Avid will announce new DSP product(s) next week!

Which one exactly? There’s a wide range with widely varying round trip latency scores.

Re: Avid will announce new DSP product(s) next week!

Using which interface??

Using my HD native system it’s 2.42ms.
Using my Quantum 2 it’s 1.67ms.

If the round trip latency of your interface is noticeable at 96/64, your interface is the...

Re: Avid will announce new Audio Interface product with DSP next week!

The LLM function on HD Native was pretty broken at launch, let alone that it was a MAJOR let down that it was only stereo and not 8 channels worth of it.

Still, I hardly ever use it. I've tracked...

Re: Avid will announce new DSP product(s) next week!

I don't agree. We don't NEED it.

It's an option, and it works well, but you don't need it for low latency monitoring.

With a well tuned modern system, you can monitor DAW outs at...

Re: Avid will announce new DSP product(s) next week!

Luna might be a step in that direction for you.
But even though some of the proprietary UAD VIs and console emulations in Luna are in fact native, the plugins are still DSP based ONLY.
They are...

Re: Avid will announce new DSP product(s) next week!

No UAD doesn’t work like that since UA won’t allow you to run the DSP plugins natively, like Avid do.
It’s one of the reasons why I’d never even consider buying into UAD as it stands.
Which is a...

Re: Avid will announce new DSP product(s) next week!

Then what’s the point of having it? Let alone paying the hefty price of admission.

If you have DSP plugins active in your session, will it automatically switch them to native versions when you...

Re: Avid will announce new DSP product(s) next week!

Someone like me wouldn’t.

I move between studio and laptop a lot.
I want to be able to run exactly the same sessions between those systems.
No plugins that suddenly don’t work and CERTAINLY...

Re: Window Config : probably stupid question

What's also cool is that you can tie window configurations to track show/hide memory locations and have those auto update.

This enables you to save and recal the plugins and other floating windows...

Re: Avid will announce new DSP product(s) next week!

That may be it actually, I mean, what that lighting button is.
So you wouldn't have to create an aux track before your track anymore in order to track through plugins.
That said, I never track...

Re: Avid will announce new DSP product(s) next week!

That green lightning/power symbol on the channel strip?

Yes I'm sure that that is not the thunderbolt logo.
Just google thunderbolt and see for yourself.

It's not a little different either....

Re: Avid will announce new DSP product(s) next week!

Yes I have, extensively.
I've used them professionally for well over a decade and I still own a system (PT TDM)
I've been running 100% natively since 2012 though and do not WANT to go back to DSP...

Re: Avid will announce new DSP product(s) next week!

Indeed. That would be nice.

All in all I’d like DSP to be optional.
Some want it. Fewer need it. I don’t.

I’d like to see the pro lO solutions be native and scalable and the DSP part...

Re: So How is 2018.12 working for you ?

Interesting to hear that it seems to perform better than .10 at low buffer settings.

a little worrying to hear that there is visual lag with some plugins on screen, since that's one of the things...

Re: Sidechaining: only mono buses showing

Understood, it is certainly not used much in music, which in terms of routing and side chaining can be quite simple compared to some post/multichannel workflows (which is illustrated by how many...
