How do I isolate a fader from the group without suspending groups?

This may be a daft question, but how do I isolate a fader from the group without suspending groups? If I'm mixing with a mouse, I just right click, but I'm getting tired of moving all my drum levels...

Re: Number of tracks

Well the blurb on the front page of the product guide says
"Create more complex mixes with double the internal busses (256) and total audio tracks (512) "
I'm aware of the limitations of the TDM...

Number of tracks

I've just upgraded my HD1 system to PT9 but I still only get 96 tracks. Am I missing something? I thought PT9 was 512 regardless of the hardware?

Sandy Bridge

Hi!
Has anyone out there built a successful HD rig on the Sandy Bridge platform?
I'm loathed to buy Bloomfield unless its the only choice.
Cheers

Re: Multiple regions with fades HELP

Can't you normalise, then do the fades?
Are all the fades different or can you "control F" the whole shooting match?

Re: 8.1 Anyone?

I've been stuck on 8.0 cs3, the move to 8.1 seems great, no probs at all.
I haven't even looked at plugin compatability.
Very disappointed not to get Heat, as I misunderstood the claim that " there...

Re: Performer .SD2 files (mac) convert to .wav (windows)

Wave lab will also import "unknown " file types, You just tell it the bit and sample rate.

Re: lazy about latency

The DI IS before the mics and 180 out of phase. If you want to be scientific, make a click in protools and feed it out through the gtr chain. In a perfect world, you'd make high and low frequency...

Re: White Noise? Humming? Hissing?

Could be ground looping, Try lifting the motif ground (mains) . The best solution, especially if that fixes it, is to buy an isolator box (Behringer HD400 2-Channel Hum Destroyer New from $29.95)

Re: Switch from mac G5 (PCIx) to a PC?

Interesting AB test, As Shan pointed out, the null shows only reverb differences, where as switching between the mixes seems not too smooth. It sounds like there's more difference. I wonder if its a...

Re: Switch from mac G5 (PCIx) to a PC?

I had a producer send me 2 bounces of the same mix, and ask me what I thought. I listened hard, did null comparisons and concluded that one mix had the Waves SSL comp and one had a real SSL comp. I...

Re: Hearing - Deafness etc

Don't be in a rush to syringe your ears, Wax is formed as part of you ears defence, you should let it do its job. Working in a busy resteraunt is enough sound pressure to cause permenant hearing...

If you haven't seen them type " paco de lucia shreds" into youtube, and then every band you can think of. I love that people take the time to do this. Steve...

For Gods sake!
Elastic audio set to varispeed, switch to xform when you're done, then go home!

Re: multiple edits

I think you misunderstand, I want to simultaneously edit regions on the same track, not on multiple tracks. I.e. to change the length of regions that have been separated by split at transient.

multiple edits

Is there a way in protools, when you've selected multuple regions on a track, to drag and change the length of all of them at ther same time, like you can in logic?

Re: Why don't we go to MAC OS?

So Maxpidgee, I bought a new Mobo, cured the bulk of the problems, and am happy with XP, whilst basking in the smug glow of Media play, safe in the knowledge that Microsoft isn't Raping the music...

Re: Mix critique

Certainly needs either better speaker sim or running through a real speaker for the gtr's. The vocal needs more attention to the level riding, as it gets lost on certain words.
+1 all of the above....
