Really? That's weird. When I crossgraded last month and popped in my (new design) iLok, and the license was already on there.

Where did you buy it? Maybe it was an older system (pre-heat, pardon...

You don't need to "activate" it like that.
You just need to make sure that you're on 8.1, and that the HEAT license is on your iLok (which it should be, if you just purchased a new core card or...

Just got back from the store, and checked my iLok (nice new design btw!) immediately, and the license was there :D

Can't wait to get everything...
