Re: 8.04cs2 WhoKnowsWTFWillHappen-ency bug

I would also like to point out that ver 9 DOES NOT fix the issue this thread is originally about. So, you pay $250 to have the same broken software.

The only other place I see people allowing...

Re: 64-bit memory usage

As far I as know, PT should be able to access about 3.5GB's of RAM in a 64 bit OS environment. Try running some soft synths and use up 3gb's or so. That should tell you in a hurry that it is...

Re: 8.04cs2 WhoKnowsWTFWillHappen-ency bug

Not really. You referred to 8.5 release hopefully having ADC. There IS NO 8.5 RELEASE. YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR AN UPGRADE TO .ver 9 to get ADC. I pretty much figured that there was NO WAY Avid was...

Re: PT9 and Me. Love to hear from DTS here!

I just find hilarious that somebody would stick with Reaper 3 over ProTools 9!

I am VERY bothered that Avid has not addressed the ver.8 driver issues. :(

Re: Connecting Multiple XLR Cables

I don't really think there is any issue here. I have done a LOT of live recordings over the years with mics running down 150-200' of cable total and have got some pretty damn nice results!

Re: Studio Monitor volume setting

High mids are where you hearing is most sensitive. You can hit 80 C Weighted and possibly not even be above your computers fan! LOL

Re: Another patchbay question..PLEASE HELP!

Half-Normalled is where the top (back) jack routes to the bottom (back) jack with no patch cable (on front jacks) needed to complete that. The only way to interrupt that connection is to plug in a...

Re: Another patchbay question..PLEASE HELP!

Explain to me how my explanation is incorrect? I never gave an explanation of full-normalled because it just isn't used that much. My explanation of half-normalled is spot on.

Wow. Some great responses!

While both offer a slice of help.......sort of flippant.

Anyway, purchase or borrow a SPL Meter. Without going into too much fuss about it all, make a...

Re: Another patchbay question..PLEASE HELP!

Also, if plan to put your microphone outputs on a patchbay, DO YOUR CONNECTIONS WITH GREAT CARE!

If you have phantom power engaged on a mic preamp, and you plug a TRS cable into that mic preamp...

Re: Another patchbay question..PLEASE HELP!

If you are running preamps to inputs:

Set patchbay to half normalled configuration. Preamp outputs on the top jacks, interface inputs to the bottom jack.

Full normalled patchbays are seldom...

Re: Win 7/64 bit and 8.0.4 frustration...In need of help

I always say, if the description fits.....

Why do people coming from very weak positions always revert to naming calling? They also always revert to the 'ol stand-by "If you don't like it,...

Re: Win 7/64 bit and 8.0.4 frustration...In need of help

Once the 16mb cache,...

Re: Alternatives to Behringer ADA8000 for 8xADAT-Lineout conversion (auto-mute proble

RiF, using proper terminology will help people understand your need here.

You need Digital to Audio converters with ADAT inputs. Or, you could say: ADAT D/A converters. Most will understand that...

Re: Pro Tools 8.0.4cs2 Update FINALLY!

That is a great option IF you can get your money back for the flawed DAW you purchase because of the advertising claims.
