Re: Stuck on "Pro Tools Loading"

I'm having the same problem. There's probably a fix, and I'll look forward to somebody posting it here.

In the meantime, try deleting your DAE Prefs. That's what's working for me right now. I...

Re: M-Audio 1814 driver

Yep, same here. Find a PC and install it once. It will probably work on your Mac after that.

Re: one small step for digidesign, one giant leap.

I've been using Logic since version 3. It all depends on what you are doing. If it's commercial sessions, then PT has a much better workflow. If it's mostly personal composing, then Logic can be a...

Re: one small step for digidesign, one giant leap.

PT already competes with all those programs. You think Digi is some small startup trying to edge in on the market? Oh, please.

Also, why on earth would anybody want to adopt the RTAS standard? If...

Re: Just got M-Powered and Audiophile 192

I was playing with Logic 7 last night and it seems to work great (so far). I have a Mac Mini 1.42, and just got an M-Audio 1814. I was getting a buffer of 64 most of the time. Occasional crackles and...

Re: Mac Mini and M-Audio 1814?

I actually did return my first unit. You'd think that M-Audio/Avid is going to get pretty sick of these returns, if this is the norm. Or at least the retail outlets are going to get sick of...

Re: Mac Mini and M-Audio 1814?

Thanks! I connected it to my PC laptop and got it working right away. Took it back to the Mac and now it seems to work with that too. Hmmm... Am I to believe that the Mac driver is so lame that you...

Mac Mini and M-Audio 1814?

Anybody get this combination to work? I tried installing driver version 1.4.4 but the M-Audio Firewire Control Panel tells me there isn't any interface connected. Re-installed the driver, turned the...

Re: Just bought a \"blem\" 1814 from MF for $479

Got it, installed it and it doesn't work. No wonder it's a "blem". So back it goes. I think I'll just go to Guitar Center have them price match another one. I've already had to wait for the first one...

Re: \'upgrade\' for 001 users with M-Audio gear?

The 001 was dropped because it's no longer current. They don't want use resources to test new releases on obsolete gear. I have an old Sound Tools system sitting in a Mac IIci in my basement, should...

Re: M-Powered vs. LE

It's basically the same deal. $100 for the lowest M-Audio PCI card and $300 for the ProTools M-Powered software. $400 for an M-Powered system or $450 for an MBox (approx numbers). The MBox sounds...

Re: Just bought a \"blem\" 1814 from MF for $479

Well, we're only talking $35 or so in my case. The difference is the "blem" compared to new. If this one is pretty beat up, they'll adjust the price based on B&H or it goes back. There's a 45 day...

Re: M-Powered vs. LE

I don't know, maybe I'm the one missing your point. You were saying that an M-Audio interface is better because you can use other software until you move on to ProTools?

But you can use an MBox...

Re: Just bought a \"blem\" 1814 from MF for $479

Your right! Way cheaper! Well, I guess it's time to try out MFs 45 day best price guarentee (or return depending on their response).

An Mbox has ASIO drivers. You can use it with almost anything, including PTLE.

Re: M-Powered vs. LE

So you're saying that the A/D converters and mic pre are better in the M-Audio gear? Have you ever owned any M-Audio gear? Well, I have and it's OK, pretty good bang-for-the-buck, but I don't think...

Re: M-Powered vs. LE

Well, given a choice between Focusrite preamps, or the negligable over-hyped improvement of 96k sample rates, I think I'd take the Focusrites. That's just as far as "better" goes feature wise. I have...

Just bought a \"blem\" 1814 from MF for $479

This will be interesting.

In the meantime I can dump the M-Audio 410 PCI card in my second PC, and use the 1814 with V-Stack or Giga Studio.

Re: Delta card is working w/demo :-)

I think the converters a step up from the M-Audio stuff too. I had a 1010 once, as well as an Audiophile Firewire. Neither _sounded_ as good as my Digi hardware. Features alone don't tell the whole...

Haven't the "positioned" themselves already?

LE = lesser functionality, excellent sounding

LE M-Powered = least functionality, OK sounding

Re: BEHRINGER BCF2000 ITS GREAT!!!!!!

You could, in theory, connect 4 units for 32 faders. You would choose the 4 different units in the ProTools External Controllers dialog. I've had the Mackie Control and the Behringer connected for 16...

Re: BEHRINGER BCF2000 ITS GREAT!!!!!!

Isn't the HUI qualified with PT 6.1.1? This Behringer unit is works with PT through a HUI emulation. If you're version of ProTools is qualified, it should work. Try checking the Digi compato page.
