Re: projectmix; cant use as controler !

It's worth it... search and find a thread where we were discussing it. I've had mine for a about year and it's really nice. Everyone focuses on the pre's but I'm very impressed with the tweak's on...

Re: Projectmix inserts?

dudeguy,

Re: Projectmix inserts?

You're saying that the outs 1-4 are send and return? like a mixer's channel insert? I don't think so. They are balanced outs, but not send/return as far as I know. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Re: Info request: Black Lion mod for PMIX

The most notable difference is in the transparency of the decay of instruments and ambiances. There is a clarity/precision to be heard in the panning. And the big catchphrase, more analog - meaning...

Re: Info request: Black Lion mod for PMIX

I don't think any control supports a master fader in Protools. It's not part of the HUI protocol. I've not had my hands on any of the big Digi boards however.

As for the pre's I don't about...

Re: Info request: Black Lion mod for PMIX

Unless things changed it's an external. You definitely want it external so you can clock other devices from it. Without it, things just ain't as good as they can be. The mod without the MC is...

Re: Info request: Black Lion mod for PMIX

I'm in the Chicago area so I dropped it off and picked it up from their shop. The actual work took one week.

As for gain on the pre's I'm not sure how much but it's more. I don't have to push...

Re: Info request: Black Lion mod for PMIX

I've had my modded PMIX for about a year. I love it. The depth of the stereo field is pretty stunning. It's just clear, wide and deep.

The mic pre's are bigger sounding.

The BL guys are...

Re: POLL: Top add-ons/plug-ins for M-powered

I too am smitten by the Black Lion ProjectMix mod. Wow is all I can say.

As for plugins I've used the Waves from the early days. I liked but they kept bleeding me for money. Other things came...

ProjectMix Zoom/shuttle combinations

This used to work, I had a support ticket in at M-Audio but no change. They said it was Digi's problem. I throw to the community for any input.

This is from page 19 in the ProjectMix manual:

Re: MacBook keyboard shortcuts

Some external 10 key pads don't work with modifier keys like COMMAND, ALT, etc...

So if you want to change your nudge value with ALT-COMMAND - or + on the keypad you are out of luck.

I bought...

Re: Any way to eliminate cut/paste edit clicks?

Do the edit at a zero crossing if possible (where the wave crosses zero, you'll need to zoom in to see it), not necessarily on the grid. Read p. 405 in the manual.

Otherwise a couple ms crossfade...

Re: free transit??

House,
I got mine pretty quickly; I believe about 3 weeks total. It was about a year ago so I'm a little fuzzy, but remember that I was actually surprised by the promptness.

Re: How to Master vocals, levels etc. Before bouncing to Dis

My comment about the L1 was tongue-in-cheek. We were joking about what people take as "magic" plugins.

Mr. Brane,
What upgrade are you using on the Mac DA? I've got the powerlogix that runs great but is REALLY loud.

Re: How to Master vocals, levels etc. Before bouncing to Dis

Re: How to Master vocals, levels etc. Before bouncing to Dis

Actually I have to admit I'm frequently called a smart-ass. I guess I lucked out this time!

I remember when I first made the jump to PT, somewhere around PTversion5 and was totally swamped by PT,...
