Re: Effects question

I like using the edit window to change the automation on the plug-ins. including level, mute, and panning. Once you get used to using the edit window you'll find it very powerful and easy to work...

Re: Your mixing plans...?

I use two methods:

1. If it's a short project or a project that all the songs sound very similar, I record them all in once session one after the other. This way I can EQ and compress once and...

Re: When , how and wich dither ????????????

I wait to dither at the Matering phase, so if I understood you right, you're doing it right. Just make sure that proTools isn't configured to automatically dither on Bounce To Disk.

Re: How to keep everything in sync?

I record with the buffer set to 128 and I get no latency. I suppose you'll need a pretty nice box to get away with that, but it's worth it cause even the plugins work at 128. Another way of doing it...

Re: What do people think of the AKG C3000?

I have the C3000 (black) $250.00 and a Studio Projects C1 $200 and the SP C1 is by far a better sounding mic and more versatile.
You can get for $175 if you go to http://www.pmiaudio.com/ and then...

Re: a/d converter for DIGI 001

Re: Anyone using the Studio Projects VTB1 tube pre?

I've been using one for about 2 years. It's great. Very clean, but you can add warmth by dialing in more of the tube if you like. You can't beat it for the price.
Oh, and it adds very little, if...

Re: Drum Mic Packages

I use the Beta 52 on the kick and an Audix 5i on the snare. The 5i works great for guitar amps too. They are relatively inexpensive and sound very good.

Re: recording guitar amps makes me angry

Make sure that the fuzzy crappy sound isn't actually coming from the amp. Sometimes if you're playing really loud your ears won't pick up the high fuzzy crappy sound until you hear it when recorded....

Re: Problems with PTLE? Post your configuration here..

I don't see an option to Disable the "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" driver, just to uninstall it.

Re: Crackle in vocals

Find a crackle then play the region area again several times to make sure it crackles at the same spot every time. Sometime you can get playback crackles that aren't really on the recorded track.

Re: Non-reverb vocal Treatment?

Since the artist is siging on your song, why not make her a dry mix and then mix it to your taste. That way you can literaly A B the mixes and/or you get what you want and she gets what she wants.
