In the end I managed to make it work.
It took two re-installations of Pro Tools, but it is working as expected.

It sounds like a mismatch of levels between Carbon and your monitoring amplifiers.

The Only choice is Carbon 1-28 24-bit.
I was expecting a way to reduce a number of I/O to get to higher sampling rate but I see no way of doing it.

Regarding configuration of Carbon there is not much you an change.
And when you try to select a sampling rate it only goes up to 96.
