Re: Master faders question

To me it's easier to route my "mix" through an AUX and the Aux goes to the Master Fader. I place any "whole Mix" plug-ins on the AUX and if I need to do a fade it's done on that Aux track.

Avid Video Engine won't launch

For a few months I've been having a problem with the video engine in PT not launching. Starting with PT11 up to 12.1 same problem. It will work on a fresh install but once I install media composer...

Re: Codec error on video import

Sounds like the problem has to do with having an older AMA plug-in mixed with newer PT11 or MC7 AMA plug-ins. You should check the AMA folder (applications Support/Avid/AVX2 plug-ins).

Anything in...

Re: Video Engine Problems with Pro Tools 11

I was getting this exact same error. It started yesterday when I finally needed to import and playback video in a session. Tried to enable the video engine but it would give me the waiting for video...

Re: AVID Must DO Something for AAX DSP

Most if not all of these delays have been ported to AAX and are now under the MOD DELAY III plugin. Most of the old bomb factory plug-ins have been ported and the compressors are AAX DSP.

Re: AVID Must DO Something for AAX DSP

I talked to InMusic at the Namm show and they plan to port the Air plug-ins to AAX. It's to be determined what will become AAX DSP since most of their plugins were not TDM.

Re: REX files (loops related)

I'd use the workspace to import them into your 84bpm session. They should automatically conform to the session tempo with elastic time on.

You may not even need elastic time since they are REX...

Re: Pro Tools 10 stress test results - DON'T believe the hype...

Don't believe the hype of the op's email. Since he chose not to include valid info about his system (as others have said) as well as explain what his stress test consists of.
Add some facts so we...

Re: CPU Error (-6101)

Yep - until pro tools goes 64 bit and can address more ram + when they do an upgrade to RTAS/AAX instrument performance then we should see a big improvement on how it works with VI's.

Also - I get...

Re: Where are the Promised AAX-DSP Plugins??

We should point out that avid released the Bomb factory plugins as both native and DSP, eq3 is both, the DYN compressor and limiter plugins are both, as you stated the reverbs are both, and I know...

Re: New Native AAX plugins From Eventide. No HDX DSP Support

I talked to them too. I said this in another thread but bottom line.
Going Native 1st makes the most business sense for many of the companies because the work has to be done anyway and it reaches...

Re: Where are the Promised AAX-DSP Plugins??

Spent the day at Namm.
Avid has a section put aside for 3rd party AAX plugins.
Many of those plugins are in beta and are expected to be released soon. It was nice to see how many new companies...

Re: Where are the Promised AAX-DSP Plugins??

Hey Oblivion777

Your post was not rude at all. In fact, I should have made it clear that the plugins were beta.

Re: Where are the Promised AAX-DSP Plugins??

Let me explain:
After the HDX events in LA I went to a demo with one of the Avid Reps at my dealer (RSPE). I took my drive and we loaded up a session on his rig. I wanted to see that my sessions...

Re: A friend says he installed HEAT on an HD-Native system?

You can install heat on a HDN system but it won't work.
You can install heat with an MBOX system - same result.

Re: Still can't find "Low Latency Monitoring" in my menu options...

Low Latency monitoring should work with an 002. I don't remember seeing anything that states they are disabling it from that hardware.

It should be at the bottom of the OPTIONS menu (I'm sure...

Re: Reassurance for those who want to port over to HDX / AAX

It's not just the waveshell. They have to code each plug-ins for AAX since it's a brand new format and DSP versions have to be written for AAX + a new type of DSP chip. It's not as simple as a new...

Re: Field recorder channel and play lists

Hey Grant

Like Craig we also will have a few empty tracks available to copy and paste onto. Not elegant but it's always worked.

If you create new playlists (on a single track) and copy and...

Firechild, I don't think this it totally correct.
Pro Tools has always buffered a very small amount of data to ram while writing to disk but I think it's way less than a meg.

Disk cache is...

Re: HDX smokes HD2

It's worth mentioning that a big factor in TDM plug-ins costing more is that they are harder to develop in terms of writing the code. Companies factored that into their prices.

It's also worth...

Re: HDX smokes HD2

Just wanted to add that someone pointed out that RevibeII takes a whole chip :(
But the true performer for reverbs is Reverb One. I'm seeing 3 or maybe 4 per chip.

Re: Harpertown is not working with HDX ...

I used a boot drive to boot into Lion with PT10.1 installed.
Pro Tools Launched. Didn't need to upgrade firmware - maybe that's because it has...

Re: 10.1 HDX and VI's

Hey Andy,

So far I've had good success with both Omnisphere and Kontact (I have v4). Also Stylus RMX is working very well. For the record - I only use 1 instance of each of these in my sessions...
