1, Select all the tracks in the first song and make a clip group and call the group the name of the song. Do this for all the songs in the set.

I think its the video engine loading. I'm fairly sure it doesn't happen when that is unchecked in the playback engine dialog.

If you are going to have the tape machine as master and PT as the slave, then the PPS will be all you need.
I dont imagine there will be any compatibility issues.

The PPS 2 converts SMPTE in to MTC (and vice a versa)
You will have to record timecode (SMPTE) onto, say, track 4 of your tape machine, then send that to the PPS 2 via an audio cable.

You should check to make sure the offset in protools is set to bar 1 and 00.00.00.00, my guess is that its not.
I would suggest dropping protools into record once a lockup between the two has been...

Use Region Groups. Make a region group out of each song and then export them.

Use the ALL group and select a song, press Command B ( or just B if command focus is on) this will separate the song...

Once you have got to the "No Insert" flashing part, you need to push the "plugin assign button (F6) which will stop the flashing and allow you to turn the channels v-pot to select the plugin you want...

When you transfer audio to Melodyne it takes a look at the tempo at the moment you start to transfer. So if you start your transfer from say bar 10 and the tempo is 120bpm this is what it will see....

The only reason I use AAF is to retain the timeline relationship between PT and Logic back to PT, I have clients who use Logic, but I prefer ProTools and by doing it this way we can move files back...
