Re: Plugin Alliance insanity

The problem with getting any updates from any plugin that Plugin Alliance sells is getting it through PA's QC. I've read far too many things on the net about developers creating and testing updates...

Re: 16 Level tuning in NI Battery 3

It's there right where I said that it is and it works just like in the video. I know because i tried it (I have both Battery 3 and 4). Slightly different name - that's all. It actually took me more...

Re: True Peak Normalization: Workflow?

I doubt he did. Waves has demos so it would be worth a shot. I think the OP doesn't want to consider anything other than his original workflow. We've given him some worthy ideas along with the thing...

Re: 16 Level tuning in NI Battery 3

Same basic procedure. Go to the Cell tab in Battery 3 and click on the cell you want to work with. Click on the Learn button in key range, hit your lower key and then the upper key. Enable the...

Re: True Peak Normalization: Workflow?

It's possible in any daw, including PT, as long as you have the right plugins to do the job. What I outlined is but one way to get the job done. And a heck of a lot less work than what you're doing....

Re: True Peak Normalization: Workflow?

Agreed. Every normalization utility I've come across (even from Sony/Sonnox) makes things sound worse than before.

Re: Could not import audio

Would help if you posted the full error message.

While waiting for that the remedy for some assertion error messages is to hold down the 'n' key on your computer keyboard as PT starts up and you...

Re: True Peak Normalization: Workflow?

I don't do normalization as such. I work to K14 metering followed by a true peak limiter like Fabfilter Pro-L set to -1dbfs. All on my 2-bus. Don't like normalization plugins as for me they make...

Re: OSX 10.14 Mojave

Do you have any real need to change your installed OSX to a newer version other than the fact you're running the worst OSX Apple ever put out? Remember that Mojave needs a Metal compatible video card...

Re: Blue Cat Audio Multiple Tracks Analyzers Updated / Analysis Month Promotions

Got the emails about the updates - thanks much. The link you have in the Pricing section is wrong (has some extra stuff in it). I think you may mean this link:...

Re: Midi Learn for 3rd party plugins

MIDI learn depends mostly on the plugin in use and not the daw. Not all plugins support MIDI learn and some that do don't allow MIDI learn on all their controls. Take NI's Battery 4 - you can't MIDI...

Re: Can't save files AAE error 35 occurred. What is it?

Try saving the project to another drive like maybe your system drive. That will at least tell you if the project is okay or possibly corrupted. Quit PT and try saving something to your recording...

Re: Upgrading a Mac Pro 5.1 12core 2.4Ghz

Depends on what OSX you're using - you'll need two separate boot partitions. According to the compatibility chart here:...

Re: Plugin Alliance insanity

Triad is a ripoff. Should really have been an update for Byome. If you get Triad there's no reason to also have Byome. And if you have Byome and Blue Cat MB7-2 you can do most of what's possible in...

Re: Transfer user default plugin settings to Mojave’s

I don't think so. Where the settings are stored depends on the plugin. Some store in a folder with the PT session, some have a designated folder where presets are stored and I think some even...

Re: Ok help with new computer purchase since new MP is out

You can custom order with an ssd - you're not stuck with a Fusion drive.

Re: Will the 8 track be far behind?

If the deck in question has a true monitoring head or separate recording and playback heads where you can monitor what's recorded it could be brought back into PT with only the delay due to the...

Re: New Mac Pro

I only run spinners until I can afford ssd's big enough as I don't want to split sample libraries up. The two 4TB drives are internals and the two 2TB drives are my backups in an external enclosure....

Re: New to PT 12.8.3

Check to see if Windows is using your audio interface - that's a no-no.

Re: path to session contains illegal characters

A possibility, if the session is stored on a separate drive is that the drive may be going bad. I had an instance a couple of years back like that. Drive worked fine for 2+ years and then started...

Re: New Mac Pro

False economy. What you're proposing is to go on a fool's errand. Ask yourself if that cost savings is really there especially when you factor in the time and frustration of having a monster machine...

Re: New Mac Pro

And that's a 7200 rpm spinner which is a waste of the resources possible in the new cheesegrater. Why introduce a performance chokepoint?

Re: Midi Notes already recorded drop when midi merge recording

What drum vi are you using?
Actually multiple MIDI tracks won't do what's being described here if done right. Don't use MIDI merge and record separate parts to each track. Then merge the tracks...
