Nope that wasn't it. I hope yall put this explanation up for the next guy.

When I formatted my new drive needed to set the allocation(or whatever the name is) to 32k or 64(the higher the better)....

Nope. I disconnect by ethernet cable and no I have not run memtest so i'll look into it. Thanks. Every bit helps.

1. The new Windows 7 beta has impressed people with it's lack of big problems and improvements from Vista.

Thanks for the comments people. Oh, by the way. The drive I was looking at was eSata and USB compatible. Oh and the comment about getting good eSata cables is some good news to know. Thanks again.
