Re: Reproducible Bug 2022.12, Monterey, HD Native

I'm happy to report that this bug is fixed in 2023.6. Thanks to Avid for addressing the issue.

Re: Reproducible Bug 2022.12, Monterey, HD Native

In case this helps anyone, we've found an even faster workaround. When the bug occurs, don't quit ProTools:

1. Go to Playback Engine settings and switch your engine to something *other* than HD...

Re: Reproducible Bug 2022.12, Monterey, HD Native

Turns out that there is slightly easier way to "tickle" the hardware and reset after the bug occurs:

1. Quit ProTools, then open AvidAudioServerLauncher (in Applications > Avid)
2. When the...

Re: Reproducible Bug 2022.12, Monterey, HD Native

It's interesting the some HDX users have seen this bug as well, but our situation seems consistent with this tech note that Avid forwarded to me:

Re: Reproducible Bug 2022.12, Monterey, HD Native

Here's the latest after consulting with Avid and Sonnet.

The Pro Tools system in the first room I set up uses a Mac Studio Max (12.6.3) connected to an HD Native card in an Avid HDX/TB3 expansion...

Re: Reproducible Bug 2022.12, Monterey, HD Native

Still struggling with this issue.

I've just finished setting up a new Mac Studio Max in a second room. Same setup as in the room discussed in my OP, except in this case the HD Native card is in an...

Re: Reproducible Bug 2022.12, Monterey, HD Native

I can confirm that plugging the chassis into the TB3 ports on the front of the Mac Studio does not work.

However, it seems that simply reinstalling the driver had some benefit. Now, *at least...

Re: Reproducible Bug 2022.12, Monterey, HD Native

That's interesting. I do indeed have the chassis connected to a TB4 port on the back of the Mac Studio (Max). I don't have a TB3 hub, but I wonder what would happen if I connected it to one of the...

Re: Reproducible Bug 2022.12, Monterey, HD Native

I have no other cards installed; this is a very simple system.

I experimented with Playback Error suppression off and on, made no difference either way. I left it disabled, and have not seen the...

Reproducible Bug 2022.12, Monterey, HD Native

I'm replacing our old cheese graters with Mac Studios and ran into this issue.

This is on a Mac Studio (M1 Max) running clean installs of Monterey 12.6.2 and PT 2022.12 (Rosetta), with an Avid HD...

How To Get AES Out To Mirror Analog 1&2

Hey guys,

As the subject line suggests, I'd like to have the AES/EBU [Encl] on my 192 mirror what's coming out of the Analog 1-2 outs. I think there's a way to do this, but I can't remember how to...

Re: Pro Tools 11 Quits unexpectedly during record

Just want to report that we're seeing fairly regular crashes while recording in PT 11 as well. This is with PT 11.1.2 on a 2010 Mac 12-core running OS 10.8.5. Our engineers are typically running...

Re: SYNC HD clock source

Thanks for the thoughts. Our work isn't critical enough that I'm worried about subframe accuracy. The SYNC HD does continue to serve a purpose, however, in that we typically act as "master" during...

SYNC HD clock source

Greetings,

We have a SYNC HD on our system because we do a fair amount of ADR work and need to be able to generate or lock to TC when working with remote facilities.

Back in the day we were...

PT 10 Native Plug-in folder

Hi,

I've just moved from HD2 Accel to HD Native, PT10, on OS 10.6.8. So far, all's well.

Before installing the Native card and PT10, I ran the PT8 uninstaller and chose a complete uninstall....

Re: Euphonix Users — Welcome to the Avid Audio Forums

I'm sorry, but I couldn't help notice that your release states your intention to "continue to keep the Euphonix product line open to work with third-party products" including MOTU. That's great; I...

Re: Anyone using Vienna Ensemble PRO with PT?

I now have VEP set up and running well on my system, and I'd just like to mention a couple of things that were never clear to me in this thread, but which make perfect sense to me now. BTW, I mean no...

Re: Anyone using Vienna Ensemble PRO with PT?

I thought you had to run VEP outside of PT to get the RAM advantage. Thanks for clearing this up. I appreciate your patience.

Re: Anyone using Vienna Ensemble PRO with PT?

So you're saying that even when I run VEP inside of PT as an RTAS plug, it is able to address as much RAM as available outside of the memory space for the host (PT)? If that's true then everything...

Re: Anyone using Vienna Ensemble PRO with PT?

Sure, and I use many such VIs, including Kontakt, MachFive, Superior 2, Stylus RMX, etc., etc. The way these additional outputs are routed are similar in both PT and DP/DAE. But in all of those cases...

Re: Anyone using Vienna Ensemble PRO with PT?

Again, sorry to be so dense, but I'm not going to apologize for wanting to understand how a piece of (non-returnable) software will integrate with my system before I shell out any $. And yes, I am...

Re: Anyone using Vienna Ensemble PRO with PT?

I'm sorry, I still don't get it. Look, I've worked in ProTools for a long time, so I understand how one normally instantiates an RTAS plug. I also have used standalone VIs that can get audio into PT...
