Re: Known plugin conflicts

I heard back again from Sonnox today and they've released a new version of Oxford Dynamic EQ (v1.31) that solves the RX AudioSuite crash.

I don't use the other plugins (Inflator and VoxDoubler)...

Re: Known plugin conflicts

Thanks for starting this thread, Guy!

I heard back from Sonnox Support yesterday and can confirm that there's a new version of Oxford Drum Gate (v.1.05) that solves the iZotope RX7 AudioSuite...

Re: 2020.9 stability...

Just saw this and I'm 99% sure I have your answer. I upgraded to a Mac Pro 7,1 this spring and immediately had the same problem with RX7 AudioSuite plugins crashing Pro Tools. After nearly a week of...

Re: Audible latency with VE pro audio input

Hmm, delay compensation seems to be strange with the VE Pro and Pro Tools combination....

The way I'm doing it works when you're sending and returning audio on the same aux track in Pro Tools --...

Re: Audible latency with VE pro audio input

I'm new to VE Pro myself but ran into the same delay compensation issues when testing it out. It turns out that when you increase the number of buffers on the VE Pro plugin, the audio will actually...

Re: Crazy weirdness with Elastic Audio/X-Form...

I'm getting similar weird behavior here, PTHD 12.5.1 on Mac 10.10.5. Often XForm processing won't render at all unless I make some extra changes to warp markers, and I've had crashes happen while...

Re: Pro Tools 12.5 on OS 10.8.5?

Cool, thank you both for the info! I'll have to try the upgrade, then. I usually tend to stay far behind the current releases, especially with Mac OS.

(And 7.4 on 10.6.8 has been my most stable...

Re: Pro Tools 12.5 on OS 10.8.5?

Interesting! I'm on a 5,1 mac pro as well, and currently using 12.4 with OS 10.8.5 and had been holding off on trying the new version, but this makes me curious to try....

Do you have any sense as...

Re: Hanging MidiNotes while recording CCs in PT12.3

This was happening for me too on 12.3 (w/Mac OS 10.8.5). MIDI Merge on, recording Mod Wheel CC1. Notes were hanging and/or not playing.

I've just installed 12.4 this week, will see if it's changed...

Re: Volume of bounced file not as loud as original

If you're trying to make a mono mix, make sure you've got a mono output path available in your IO setup, and assign everything to that output (ie A1 instead of A1-2...etc.) Then when you bounce,...

Re: Volume of bounced file not as loud as original

Summing to mono will end up boosting a center panned track, although the .5dB you're getting seems odd -- with a 2.5dB pan law it should be more like a 3.5dB boost, but perhaps there's some extra...

Re: Volume of bounced file not as loud as original

It's pan law -- when you have a mono track panned center, it's reduced in volume by the PT mixer's pan law, which is -2.5dB for your version of PT. So each of your bounces should be 2.5dB softer than...

Re: Pans flipped to faders...

+1, it's very confusing the way panning on the faders is configured. The first time I flipped pans to faders I couldn't believe how it was set up, it just seems completely wrong that way.... My vote...

Re: Annoying bug introduced in 10.3

It looks like this has been solved in 10.3.5. I just installed it this morning and a quick test showed the old behavior, which I'm very happy about! I'll report back if I discover any issues but...

Re: Punch In Recording. Same Track Blended Regions

You can do this with fades only, without duplicating tracks or cutting off cymbals, as long as there's no overlap in the what the drummer played (ie if he hits just the downbeat of the next section...

Re: Annoying bug introduced in 10.3

Yes, fix this in 10.3.5 please!!! It's a major workflow killer for me, not just for selecting plugins but also for selecting and creating new and duplicate playlists....

Re: Edit Selection BUG or FEATURE /?

Certainly everybody has their own ways to work, and that's great. I just want to ability to work the way I always have, which for me is way quicker.

Let me give you an example of how this method...

Re: Edit Selection BUG or FEATURE /?

So, 10.3.4 has fixed the start/stop manual entry point bug, but I still can't hit return to select a menu item -- when I do, Pro Tools also jumps to the start of the timeline. Having the keystroke...

Re: Edit Selection BUG or FEATURE /?

This is for entering a precise start and end point -- it's much faster and easier to do it that way than to try and hit it on the timeline with the mouse.

Often I might want to start a record pass...

Re: Edit Selection BUG or FEATURE /?

Yes, not an OS issue, I've got this too here on 10.6.8. Very annoying.

This and not being able to select plugins or Bounce to Disk dialog menu items by hitting "return" without going to the start...

Re: corrupt audio files PT 8.0.3

Just had this happen to two files from yesterday's session at a studio running 8.03 (I believe -- it was definitely some version of 8 on SL.)
Thanks for the WAV fixer, Rail! It worked like a charm....
