I have Waves Gold V5 and am trying to transfer from one computer to another. The folks at Waves refuse to help me with the authorizations, so I am guessing that you can not sell Waves V5 or possibly...

Re: bounce - real time only?

Back in the early days of PT the BTD was as fast as the computer could process it. It was not real time, and you did not hear the audio as it bounced.

I understand that real-time BTD was created...

Re: Reel Tape Flanger TDM issue

That sounds like what happens when you are using a plugin in trial mode, as if PT does not know that you have paid for it.

Re: What to look for in a UPS

I always disconnect the buzzer in my UPS so it doesn't beep when the power goes out. Sometimes you can clip the wires going to the buzzer, or unsolder the buzzer mounted on a circuit card, or once I...

Re: Non Realtime Bouncing.... Please!

Re: Non Realtime Bouncing.... Please!

I always listen to my mix before I BTD.

In the early days of Pro Tools, the BTD was not audible and was as fast as your computer could process it. Somewhere along the way, they made it real time...

Re: Replications/Duplication Recommendations

I've done a lot of business over the years with DiscMakers.

The artwork (especially colors) is always perfect, which is not always true of other replicators.

Re: SM-57 to unbalanced input?

I don't think you can get enough level out of an SM57 to drive the line input without going through some kind of preamplifier first.

There is a big difference between a 1/4" line input and a 1/4"...

Re: TRS patchbays and phatom power

To explain a little further, if you insert with the phantom power turned on, you are shorting out the phantom power supply for a brief moment when you insert the TRS plug. This can fry something in...

Re: Someone broke into Daptone Studios (Amy Winehouse)

Re: Any recommended Glyph drives??

Re: can i use a guitar pedal as a preamp?

-10db or +4 depends on the preamp. If you have XLR connectors or TRS, it is probably +4. If it has mono 1/4" connectors, then it's probably -10. One of my preamps with XLR connector is +0 output,...
