Re: Can't use any standard Windows shortcuts, like Alt + Tab

Thanks. It drives me nuts and hurts efficiency. I will report this thru the proper channels.

Re: Can't use any standard Windows shortcuts, like Alt + Tab

Clearly that would work but that's now what I am asking. What I'm asking is if there is anyway to allow me to use Windows shortcuts while Pro Tools is the current window. For example, Windows + D...

Can't use any standard Windows shortcuts, like Alt + Tab

Hi all,

I've searched high and low and can't find anyone questioning this exact scenario, though I'm sure someone has.

It seems like when I am in Pro Tools, PT takes complete control of my...

Re: upgraded - now cannot import mp3 - quicktime not installed - ...yet it is..

I had the same issue where PT 11 said QuickTime was not installed. Uninstalling and re-installing an older version of QT resolved my issue

Re: So, 002Rack...it won't work with PT9?

After a lot of searching, I finally came across this thread and it seems like Pro Tools 9 should be compatible with the 002 family. The info on the Avid site is quite confusing.

The official "Pro...

Re: Ethical to replace drum sounds without informing client?

ha. I think that sums it ALL up. You are right. We mean no harm. We are just making it sound the best it can and hopefully they trust our decisions.

Re: Ethical to replace drum sounds without informing client?

right. This has nothing to do with performance or trying to get more consistent levels of each snare hit. I just am putting a different drum under his stick and putting him in a world class studio....

Re: Ethical to replace drum sounds without informing client?

I feel like that even after tiggering/replacing, the personality of the drummer is still there, assuming you take the time to make sure that your trigger type software is accurately picking up all...

Re: Ethical to replace drum sounds without informing client?

The drumming is fabulous in this particular case. The drum sounds are good too. I just like a lot of the Steven Slate snares and kicks (using Trigger) better and they require minimal processing. I'm...

Re: Ethical to replace drum sounds without informing client?

you're right about that but I bet most non mixers/producers/recordists (you get it) have no idea what actually goes into mixes, including sometimes extensive drum replacement, so it's OUR secret

Re: Ethical to replace drum sounds without informing client?

Well if they asked i would tell them, but i feel that if I volunteered this info to certain clients, they wouldn't understand and would insist that I use the original sounds. Therefore, I am...

Ethical to replace drum sounds without informing client?

So, do you guys think it's ethical to replace drum sounds with something like Trigger or Sound Replacer on a mix without telling the client?

Re: Multi Platinum Pro Tools DVD : TRIM RTAS plugin and fader above zero

Thanks Mr. Keybeets. That completely eliminated my confusion. I don't know where I came up with the idea that your fader cannot go above zero. It is now clear. Hopefully this thread will answer this...

Re: Multi Platinum Pro Tools DVD : TRIM RTAS plugin and fader above zero

I was concerned because I thought there was some rule that said your fader should not go above zero. But I gather that a long as your level is not clipping (indicated by "being in the red"), then...

Re: Stereo Aux vs Mono Aux and Turning that Mono into stereo via a stereo Plugin

When you use mono busses and mono->stereo aux plugins, you cannot pan each channel of the send. That doesn't matter? Sonically speaking, what difference would it make if it was a stereo send and you...

Stereo Aux vs Mono Aux and Turning that Mono into stereo via a stereo Plugin

Hello. I've got some questions...

What is the difference between sending, for example, a vocal sub-mix out via a stereo bus to a stereo Aux track with a reverb plug in, vs sending the sub-mix out...
