Re: New Mac Pro (7.1)

I'm sure people will chime in soon enough, but still guys remember the new cheesegrater is not supported yet. Need to wait for PT2020 for full support

Re: DigiLink I/O thing ???

Open the PT Perpetual Bundle to see what is inside. That little triangle on the left.

EDIT: oh, it must be standard software as it only has 4 licenses

Re: DigiLink I/O thing ???

It isn't about punishing, but putting all users on the same line. Requiring the end user showing the license is the only way this can possibly work out. Think about it for one second and you will get...

Re: DigiLink I/O thing ???

Apogee, Focusrite, Lynx, Prism for starters. All of the DigiLink interface users are now equally in a need of a license.

Re: DigiLink I/O thing ???

System has the DigiLink license included.

Card is a card, license is a license, software is a software, interface is an interface. Combine all of them and you have a system. Capiche?

Re: DigiLink I/O thing ???

Nope. You bought a card that has given you a possibility to use DigiLink interfaces. The ability to actually use the ports comes from the DigiLink license.

Re: DigiLink I/O thing ???

Wouldn't we all love that. What could go wrong? Apart from Avid CEO getting lower bonuses... Are you the only person on earth that has not heard Avid has been in financial trouble lately? Lowering...

Re: DigiLink I/O thing ???

No, but you are asking to pirate their hardware. We are not talking about age old 1/4 inch phone connector here

Re: DigiLink I/O thing ???

Ultimate software has nothing to do with DigiLink ports. You can use Ultimate software with any hardware. DigiLink port is only used with HD and HDN and HDX hardware. And since 12.6 you need to have...

Re: DigiLink I/O thing ???

You just don't get it.

Proprietary port is Avid's intellectual property. It has been reverse-engineered and Avid put a stop to it. Nothing wrong in asking the end user a license to use their...

Re: BOOM Plugin comes with PT12?

Hi, welcome to the community.

Those are not part of PT core installer, you will get them with a permanent license (or subscription). Because they are additional installers, they don't come with...

Re: plugin scan question

Once you start PT and it finds you have installed plugins which you do not have a license, it asks if those can be moved to unused plugins folder. Just say ok and that is it. Later you can move them...

Re: DigiLink I/O thing ???

Unfortunately, the end user having a license is the only way to stop unlicensed hardware from being used. Of course 3rd party vendor could compensate it by lowering prices.

This is just 101 course...

Re: You get FIVE features to add to PT only.. what are they?

You get native 64 i/o with HDN. What you want to say is raise the 3rd party i/o limit.

Re: HD Omni Optical Input Level low?

It can also be reference mismatch. For example, on my Apogee Symphony control application I can set ref.level to anything between -12 and -20 -- obviously meters will change accordingly.

Re: Bug fix list

Go find a really early version and read the release notes. Repeat for every subsequent version. Done.

Re: You get FIVE features to add to PT only.. what are they?

MIDI was implemented in 5.0 and only improvement I have noticed so far is the Instrument Track. Hoping for a massive MIDI release someday but not holding my breath
