Re: AAX DSP M/S Decoder?

I find it generally amazing that such a simple dsp process (a summation and a subtraction) is at the same time one of the rarest plugins you can find on the AAX market.

There are about 20 million...

waveform visual out of sync when scrubbing

Hi,

we're currently mixing on HDX3 (with engine set to 512 voices) and for some reason when scrubbing over dialogue to locate clicks the cursor position vs. waveform of the clips is way out of...

Re: PUBLIC List of Artist Series / Eucon PROBLEMS

Probably a waste of energy. There are already over 90 entries on idea scale. (incl. the one you just posted about the panner. it has been requested for years)

Re: EQ automation and processing delay

That's because automation isn't sample accurate in PT10 and older so depending on your session load all automation incl. volume can lag behind. In the old days we even had to move volume graphed...

Re: Blackmagic Intensity Pro & Pro Tools 11.3 HD = Horrible video playback

There must be something else going on, IMO.
I am using the same version BM driver and PT but different OS on quad core and have none of the mentioned issues.
I'm playing back video directly from...

Re: Can't assign LCR track to 5.1 bus

Good point. You sometimes forget that PT is one of the oldest DAWs having survived till today. That plus the fact that they have to keep parameters compatible backward and forward in versions...

Re: Can't assign LCR track to 5.1 bus

Almost. You always need subpaths but with mono to 5.0 or stereo to 5.1 you are panning to 5.0 so it's built in.

If you want to hard-route stereo to L/R of a 5.1 without any panning you still need...

Re: Can't assign LCR track to 5.1 bus

Not without Spanner. Or you split your LCR into a 1mono+2 stereo tracks and then pan those individually.

But if you don't need the panning you can definitely route an LCR track to an 5.1 bus, if...

Re: Can't assign LCR track to 5.1 bus

You need to create sub-pathes for LCR in the IO setup for the 5.1 bus you're trying to route to. Having said that, it's not possible to pan LCR to 5.1 in PT. You can only hard route LCR to an LCR...

Re: Importing from other sessions

MC and AudioVision have always had that. It's called sequence and bin handling and absolutely essential when editing films.

It's been the #9 top request on idea scale for 5 years and has been...

Re: PT11 Video Engine Problems

The recent codecs come with every PT11/10 installer packet in the codec folder. Just mount the PT installer dmg and install from there.

Re: PT 11 Video Engine is the worst ever.

All I can say is that we have multiple systems running those versions and none have those issues. This include an HDX3. All working.
I'm probably the wrong person to help you.

Only difference is...

Re: PT 11 Video Engine is the worst ever.

sounds like something system-specific. try running it from a new user-account and see what happens. (without installing anything)

Re: PT 11 Video Engine is the worst ever.

Try 11.2.2 with the 10.3.4 BM driver. works flawless here on many systems.

Re: PT 11 Video Engine is the worst ever.

How about starting with posting some system info?

PT version for example would be a nice.

Re: Syncheck discontinued (!)

Well, it's an additional format that needs to be rendered and exported for every turnover by the assistant editor. And It's twice the amount of data to download because I need to have QT as well for...

Re: Syncheck discontinued (!)

Hm. The device measures delay between video and audio. You could compare delay between video and different speaker channels but the fluctuation of the video delay on most systems is too big to...

Re: Space convolution impulses

Phoenix has some really cool exterior presets. Way more and better than Revibe IMO. Worth trying for that if you don't like AV.

I have AV, Revibe and Phoenix. Revibe has been catching dust and I...

Re: Syncheck discontinued (!)

IMO, mono is fine. Playing back the beeps through multiple speakers at the same time is not very good anyway.

Re: Syncheck discontinued (!)

I wouldn't recommend to compensate speaker channels differently per channel to compensate for video delay. You are offsetting the video in PT so you can't compensate the QT differently for each...

Re: Syncheck discontinued (!)

Because PT11 is still very rare among the ADR, foley and mixing studios and it causes extra work to generate MXF and QT just for the sake of using MXF on 11.

QT is down-compatible so I see no...

Re: Syncheck discontinued (!)

All you have to do is to generate a couple of master QTs with high resolution and then dump them into compressor and batch-convert them to all other variants.

so one full 1080P at 24, 25, 23.98,...

Re: Space convolution impulses

EA sounds good but it's a very different reverb. I have both but EA is not going to replace AV for many things, IMO.

Since PT11 AV's memory hunger is not an issue anymore. And since they got rid...

Re: Syncheck discontinued (!)

Hi,

every codec (incl. fps, resolution variants) cause different offsets so you'll need to generate a lot of them to cover common formats. The ones offered from Syncheck included literally well...

Re: PT12 / Dolby Atmos

The AAX Dolby Atmos panner has been around for quite some time now. It's not exactly for purchase. You can use it when your project has purchased an Atmos license.
It's interconnects with the RMU...
