Re: Need a great reverb plugin.

Risky to get a plug that may never be released again for Windows. Particularly when your forum handle is pcmusic pro. ;)

I have 2 licences of Altiverb that I'm only keeping around for opening old...

Re: Need a great reverb plugin.

Have a look at Vienna Suite. you get a convolution reverb, an algorithmic one and quite a few great other plugs for mixing and mastering. I never use Altiverb any more, because the Vienna plugs are...

Re: Avid seeking feedback on closure of Sibelius UK office

With any complex software, introducing a new programmer into the team takes a lot of time, maybe up to 6 months, until they are fully integrated. Imagine how difficult it will be to integrate a whole...

Re: Please tell me What you must do if you lose your ilok!

Right, so as I said you need to contact the plugin developers to see if they will give you another licence.

Re: Please tell me What you must do if you lose your ilok!

You need to contact all the developers for the plugs that you have on your iLok, including Avid, and then try to persuade them that they want to give you another licence.

Re: Why yes, this is the successful Hackintosh build thread!

So just stick an Apple label on your computer, and get over it. :D

Re: Why yes, this is the successful Hackintosh build thread!

AFAIK the problem with the Florida company was that they hacked the OS, and therefore only bought one copy of OSX, which they were then installing on multiple computers.

Re: Waves Will NOT Be Supporting AAX-DSP!!!

I don't really think that the implementation in Logic is anything that Pro Tools should try to emulate. It's pretty much a disaster in some areas. It was designed as a workaround for slow computers...

Re: Benefit Of Using Win 7 64 bit and More RAM?

Far some reason a very few people can get close to 4GB, but most machines seem to crash way before that. I can get around 2.8GB before the inevitable crashes start.

Re: Mac Pro Updated (Slightly)

Many things. For example, it could be a way of tethering Mac minis together, so that you have a kind of cluster, that the OS sees as one computer. Only Apple knows.

As I said, he hasn't confirmed that the "something great" will be a Mac Pro. Please are just assuming that this is what he was talking about. He could easily have said "we are planning a really great...

Re: Mac Pro Updated (Slightly)

Not exactly. It was confirmed that there would be something exiting for the pro user, but it was never explicitly stated that it would be a Mac Pro, AFAIK.

Re: New MacPros are HERE!!

They can't charge those sort of prices any more, as Mac Pros are now just old spec computers. It could also be the equivalent of selling old stock at a price that will get rid of it. The question is,...

Re: Mac CD burning software

You don't need any extra software on Windows either. It is really convenient on both platforms these days.

Re: Pro Tools and Nuendo files

Open it in Nuendo or Cubase and then save OMF. There is a trial version of Cubase, but I don't know whether or not it allows export of OMF.

Re: iLok randomly stopped working, PACE WONT HELP!

I would never have Anti virus software and PACE active on the same machine at the same time. I wouldn't be surprised if that was the start of your problem.

Re: Export Multichannel Interleved Files - Major Bug in PT10

Yes, the format you quote is the Microsoft default for a multichannel wav file. It's not the only thing that PT doesn't do the way the wav standards are set either. ;)

Re: Latency issue...

Are you using ADC? If so, just adding a few inserts could put the latency up. What latency do the insert plugs report to PT?

Setup/Playback engine/HW Buffer size

If you want to change things, you should be able to do it from Setup/Hardware.

Re: Latency issue...

Latency is usually caused by badly written soundcard drivers, soundcard buffer set too high or a high latency plug somewhere in the signal chain.

Re: Thunderbolt expansion chassis.

Aha. That was probably where I read it, so it may or may not be applicable to the Sonnet X server.

How do you know it's OSX only? Have you tested it in Windows?

I'm sorry that you don't agree with me, but I was thinking about using a Mac Mini in my new mobile rig, so I did a lot of reading. In...

Re: Thunderbolt expansion chassis.

As far as I remember from reading the specs, support is built into Windows OS for cards put into the chassis, but OSX doesn't allow this (I didn't understand the reasons why). Long story short, to be...

Re: Thunderbolt expansion chassis.

Unlikely to work on OSX, as it would need special drivers.
