ok figured it out, for some reason in the root folder was set to my internal hard drive and not the external drive that I copied everything to. Working now

I'm having this same problem. I've tried changing the name of the session - no joy. I've tried changing the drive from Record to Transfer and that just makes all my audio disappear...

I figured it out I think. If anyone else is having similar probs here's what it was:

In Disk Allocation I had 'root media...' checked. This was linking to the last used session....

I recently upgraded from PT8 to 8.1 and since then, when I make a new session it no longer automatically creates new folders for audio/fade files etc. Instead it just uses the most recent location....

Ok never got to the bottom of this but reinstalled PT8 and this time it found the mbox. My only guess is that because the original install was with the mbox 2, it didn't know to look for the mbox......

thanks for the replies, I've sorted it now but it still isn't quite as powerful as I would hope from the spec:

Turns out the prob was with the dual core processor - there's a download update...
