Bear in mind that I didn't go for the most badass machine I could find. I just have heard that Intel dual core and 4 GB RAM was important, so I set out to find a laptop with the least bling and stuff...

I agree that it's not easy to get info about working laptops, so I tried this topic first. Got no replies, so I took a chance and bought the Asus. Time will tell if it works ok with larger sessions....

I bought the thing, and I have posted the brand and first impressions a few posts up. I haven't used it enough to properly judge it yet, but at least it works so far.

I will, but the most heavy sessions I use consists of one or two midi tracks with Superior 2.0, five audio tracks with Amplitube, and two audio tracks with no plugins. Not very demanding, although...

Well, I haven't really tested it enough to give a rating yet, as I have only done some midi editing on old sessions with only one plugin and some audio tracks so far. I will be recording this...

I meant to write PCI Express, of course. I got the laptop, installed a TI made Firewire card, and it seems to be working ok so far.
