Re: Help me out!

Goes back to PT11 on Sierra. Been running that combo for about 9 months now and it's been just fine other than the import audio bit. Drag and drop works just fine and isn't all that slow.

Re: Avid DUC not secure?

There isn't and there's no need to as nothing is sold here. I don't use Safari - hate the gui. My browser of choice is Firefox Quantum.

Safari will let me login no problem. What version Safari...

Re: Yamaha MOXF8 Patch names

.midnam files are those that contain the patch names for a particular instrument. It's what you would see for patch changes if the Yamaha was selected as the destination for the MIDI stream. Normally...

Re: MIDI notes not sounding

It's on his profile page.

Two possibilities:
The first is PT has lost it's routing to the vi on the track. Enable 'instruments' view in the edit screen and see what the routing is.

Another...

Re: Bex Event MSVCR80.dll Error Upon Opening Pro Tools

From what I could find via Google the most common remedy seems to be an uninstall/reinstall of the s/w. Look at it this way - you don't have to wipe your system drive and reinstall Windows (yet)...

Re: Plugin Alliance insanity

I think I paid $49 for it a while back. My main use for it is to reduce pick sounds from guitar & bass.

Re: Plugin Alliance insanity

Yes you can turn off TMT. And when I did it didn't seem to make a difference. The only time it solidly stopped messing with the correlation was when I bypassed the whole plugin :(

As a test I put...

What are you talking about? There's two controls that possibly fit your description.

Re: Plugin Alliance insanity

I got the correlation errors in regular L/R. They're expected in M/S. Still sucks.

Re: Plugin Alliance insanity

I like that PA apparently sampled the 2X12 piggyback version head - that was more common than the original one that just about everyone else models/samples. There's an amp that no one models/samples...

Re: Plugin Alliance insanity

You'll like Bassdude. There are differences between the inputs so that alone is worth trying. And it's not just for basses either. Does something wonderful in filling out a thin Rhodes or Wurlitzer...

Re: Plugin Alliance insanity

Burned out on it over at Gearslutz; I guess nobody here cares about it. I'd demoed it when it first came out and while the sound is decent I don't like what it does to correlation. The latter has...

Re: Drum VIs? Loops?

Why BFD3? I started with Steinberg Groove Agent on my old Windows/Sonar system and when I wanted real drums went to the original BFD. Then BFD2 followed by BFD3 when I went to a Mac and PT. Another...

Re: ilok issues, I hate ilok

Something to keep in mind that if you have a spare iLok it has to have it's own ZDT coverage. For instance if you have to use ZDT on your regular iLok that coverage does not/is not transferred to the...

Re: Drum VIs? Loops?

I do pretty much what Dave does except for two things:
I generally don't detune the drums
Instead of a room reverb I'll use a plate of some type

btw I use BFD3

My mantra for vi drums has...

Re: Auto Record Enable on MIDI Tracks

This shouldn't happen. With everything shutdown disconnect the Akai. Restart the computer and PT and try what you wrote above and see if they're still coming up record enabled. Don't say that it...

Re: Acoustic guitar mixing

Good mic and good positioning. I doubt you overloaded the mic with signal. Could be a picking issue or even something in the way the guitar is set up.

Mic type and how did you position it? Like I wrote earlier a complete description of your setup is a good thing.

Re: NI Massive X release pushed to June ...

Thanks for the link. Can't say much good about the gui from what could be seen. Looks like it could be a real eye strain to work with.

Re: Acoustic guitar mixing

Something that would help is to answer the question I asked that you ignored: how are you recording the guitar - microphone or via a built-in piezo pickup? This would have an effect on the sound and...
