I think you hit the nail on the head. You or I do something like that and we're headed for a stay in the GreyBar Hotel. Avid does it and the employees get a raise (or at least get to keep their jobs).

This business with PT11HD users getting the 11.3.2 update is, as I've read, has to do with fixes in Eucon. But you're right is does put the lie to what Cariddi said here almost a year ago on the DUC...

Yeah - I checked on the Avid store and all it says for the $99 upgrade is PT12; no mention of PT10 or PT 11 assets being included.

PT11 has been dropped from the licensing packages. The way it is now (subject to Avid change) is the $199 fee gets you the PT10/12 combo and the $99 fee only gets you PT12.

And the stranglehold...

What's confusing is with the two levels of upgrades - the $199 one gets you a combo license asset of PT10 and PT12; the $99 one only gets you PT12. PT11 has been totally dropped from the picture...

If you look again at what Chris wrote he said that he understood that the tech alert said 11.3.2 would be the last update for those not on a support plan. Taking things out of context is never good....

The reason you don't have it is you probably only have PT11 vanilla (aka non-HD).
