DOH. What was I thinking. Everything had been going so smooth for a while. I'd run the El Capitan developer releases on another machine for a few months with no problems, so I didn't think twice...

More followup: it looks like it's definitely an Avid problem.

I can confirm that TotalMix v 0.942 does indeed respond to other Mackie Control
interfaces, at least on OS X 10.7.1. I rigged up...

Wow, broken on windows too?

On OS X Lion I had to hack Eucon just to get any Mackie Control, but never did get Totalmix running. More hacking to come....

I haven't looked at the Windows install at all, but a quick check shows me that it's CORBA based system, built on the TAO Orb. it *could* live in a system service but that wouldn't really help...
