Re: Audio Interface question

I'll rephrase; sounds great compared to other boxes in it's category. And especially older gear.
Have you had a good listen to it, Cristopher?
I can't imagine you'd bother, with all the pro gear...

Re: Audio Interface question

+1
I've been thru a number of generations of small interfaces, and I must say the 2i2 (3rd gen) just sounds great. Just try to get as modern gear as you can. Mbox 2nd gen is stoneage.
By the way,...

Re: Problem with Folder Tracks: Plays out of sync after Freeze

I'm picking this up as I'm starting to use folder tracks and routing folders, and I heard of these latency compensation and freeze problems.
Are they still there in 2020.11, 12?
If I just stay away...

Re: Why cant we drop an drag out pots ?

Thanks.
I suggest we leave it there, as this is turning somewhat off topic to the thread.
I'll revive the thread you linked to, and continue there:

Re: Why cant we drop an drag out pots ?

I'm just getting to learn to use routing folders.
Could you outline what the problem with latency compensation is, or point me in the right direction, please?

Alt - action = Apply to all visible tracks.
Alt - shift - action = Apply to all selected tracks.
Works for routing, sends, inserts, solo, mute ++

Re: Help for a novice using pro tools 8.5le and now need to upgrade

I'm pretty shure they're available on avid's downloads page when you have the licence for them.

Re: is digidesign 003 compatible with latest protools 2020

The 003 is Firewire 400 only isn't it? That'll have to go into the equation.

Re: how to create more Inserts on Channels & Master Fader?

I don't have a link to a video, but I guess you're talking about routing a track via an aux track and thereby getting access to its inserts, increasing the number of inserts available to that signal...

Re: Help for a novice using pro tools 8.5le and now need to upgrade

OK, I'll leave it to my friends here on the DUC to advice on a PC.

Just a thought; You realise you will have to leave XP behind, so you'll be in for a big change. So why not change to a very...

Re: Help for a novice using pro tools 8.5le and now need to upgrade

If you're ready to go mac, then I could give you lots of advice, but Windows… I know nothing.
Anyway, no one can suggest anything before you describe more what you need, have, want, and your budget.

Re: Help for a novice using pro tools 8.5le and now need to upgrade

Oh yes!
I was actually pretty amazed how good the little 2i2 sounded when I got it. Low cost consumer stuff is in a different class now compared to 10+ years ago.

Re: Help for a novice using pro tools 8.5le and now need to upgrade

For 600 usd you get a perpetual license (With upgrades for a year) that works for 10, 11, 12 and latest current versions.
With a subscription you pay monthly or yearly, and it works only for...

Re: Help for a novice using pro tools 8.5le and now need to upgrade

Win XP, 2002. Eighteen years?!
Mbox mini? About the same age?!
And an old weak computer.
I'm sorry, you simply have no options.
Except to start from scratch, with both new hardware and new...

Re: Any Market for Old 78 Records?

Hi. Welcome to the forum.
Are you kidding?
This thread is discussing 100 year old 78rpm records.
Besides, why do you ask this on a forum for Avid products and digital audio production?

Re: default output 1-2 seems to mult

Sounds like you are pressing the modifier key to "add output". Any track can have more than one output destination. IIRC it's ctrl on mac. Maybe you have a stuck key?

Re: Problem instaling Pro Tools 8 M-Powered in Windows 10- Help!

I'm sorry, but it will never work. Simple as that. You will be wasting your time. I'm with Cristopher, either you get current with PT or you might try to install Win7 on that PC. Win7/PT8 might work.

I've been having some -9173 errors lately, and I'm suspecting waves plugins are involved in my case. So, I have no factual basis for suggesting this, but you should check if it happens on...

But still, you would only be...
