Can I use a Ferrofish A16 (16-channel digital I/O) with a 192?

Totally understand this, but I have to ask, are you using only ProTools?
Im just checking as you may not be so thrilled to use HD/192 with other DAWs.
This is where RME shines.

Re: HD Omni Not Accepting ADAT SMUX Inputs 5-8

I'm glad you figured it out, but terribly sorry for your loss.
I wouldn't spend that much to repair an Omni.
The pres and conversion are great, but input limitations negates those +s.
If you...

Re: HD Omni Not Accepting ADAT SMUX Inputs 5-8

I have a similar setup with an Omni/ASP880 and usually run my sessions at 44/48.
I just tested at 88 and the first thing I noticed is that you have set work clock output to 88khz.
You usually don't...

Sample Tank 3 causing CPU Spiking in Protools 11

I had the same problem before with both PT11 and StudioOne3. Sampletank3 has great sounds, but it is a cpu hog and does not function as expected. Increase your buffers as Chris suggested.
Another...

Re: Avid Vocal Tune Plugin

I also would love to see AAX-DSP Tune plugins.
ATLive has too much latency when used with other plugs on a track.

Re: PT12 routing with RME UFX

I just wanted to point out that what he is asking for DOES NOT exist and has been discussed here many times before.
With LLM monitoring you still hear the input signal when you record enable a track...

Re: PT12 routing with RME UFX

Your ProTools Inputs are OK.
Also note that muting the inputs in Totalmix does not prevent your input signals from going into protools. Totalmix acts as a monitoring console that mixes all your...

Re: PT12 routing with RME UFX

Most folks just mute the track that is record-enabled n ProTools and use the superb low latency monitoring in TotalmixFX.
Other ways you can solve this:
- Mute all the input channels in TotalmixFX...

Re: Tring to install Sampletank3

The installation process for Sampletank 3 copies all the downloaded sounds to your IK S3 library.
So you now have duplicate files in:
1. your downloads folder
2. your new S3 library

You should...

Re: Pro Tools 12.3 - more info

looks like the Dock works without the iPad, but from the demos I saw, it works better with it.

Re: PT 11 HD native and RME Fireface UFX

I have to agree. Though the Omni has better conversion, the RME UFX is much more flexible (more IO) and works great with PT11HD as a 3rd party interface. I like that you can route any input to any...

Waves plugin and mouse causing CPU spikes

Is this one of the reasons for the screen freeze bug and CPU spikes in 11.2.2?
I use a Logitech wireless trackball and never thought it was an issue.

Re: Geekbench scores for a Mac Pro based HDX rig

This is one of the chassis I looked at before. Unfortunately, it won't work with HDX cards. it's only for HD Native or other short Pcie cards. Here is an excerpt from the description:

Re: Geekbench scores for a Mac Pro based HDX rig

Re: Slate Digital AAX-DSP?

Sounds great and I'd like to learn more.
If you don't mind, can you share a few examples of DSP plugins you used heavily while tracking before in HD and what native plugs you use now.

You have been spoiled and many others as well. Routing, reliability and general flexibility make the RME an indispensable tool. Being able to send any input or output anywhere without latency is what...
