ATTO UL3D/33 + OSX CPU=searches for boot drive?

By removing the ATTO card, boot up is normal. With ATTO card in, the opening screen searches for the boot drive for a while, flashing the question mark. Then after 30 or a minute, everything comes...

Re: Need help with crashing OSX upgrade, PT 6.7

Pro Tools was open all night--no crash. Looks like I found some defective RAM. Once I catch up and get past my deadline, I'll add in the 3rd piece of RAM and see if I'm still up and running.

Then...

Re: Need help with crashing OSX upgrade, PT 6.7

Reducing the RAM to one 512 still crashed mid afternoon when left idle with session open.

Swapped out to the 2nd 512 and it's been fine all day and evening. I'm leaving a session open overnight...

Re: Need help with crashing OSX upgrade, PT 6.7

Hi Roberts,

I've yanked two of the three RAM cards, down to 512 now, to see if that's what I'm dealing with.

Digi says that if NI or other soft synths are a problem, they have to be removed...

Yes, OXFORD 911. Haven't tried Disk Warrior yet. Will do that next. What is the best, most accurate RAM testing program out there these days?

Thanks

Re: Need help with crashing OSX upgrade, PT 6.7

"What Mac model and which version of OSX?"

Dual 1.25 G4 MDD FW400

OS 10.3.8 (came that way--I was told Digi hadn't approved it but was testing it with no major issues so I should try it before...

Checked all the "to do" stuff, fixed some potential problems but still crashing. May have to abandon the OSX computer and go back to the old OS 9.22 computer to get work done.

I have cleared and...

DigiTechSupt,

Thanks for the quick response. I didn't see any instructions to disable screen savers--don't want one anyhow! I will update to cs8 tonight. I reformatted drives to be safe, HFS+ and...

\"Error reading disk\" when trying to install PT 6.7

I'm joining the OSX crowd on a dual 1.25 G4. Newly reformatted at dealer with Panther 10.3.8, 1.5 GB of RAM. Purchased full 6.7 upgrade.

Trying to install PT, gets to 138 irems left to go, hangs,...

Re: "Slo Tools"--is this a programmer prank?

My guess is...

Re: "Slo Tools"--is this a programmer prank?

John,

You're not helping anyone figure this out by trying to discredit me. I 've got better things to do than to perpetrate a hoax on a system I paid good money for. I'd just like to know what's...
