Slate urges against early odoption of new MacOS.

Just got an email from Slate saying that there are some issues with the new MacOS coming out next month (Catalina) and to hold off for a while.
I wonder what these issues could be and if they will...

Re: Best Cd burning Software in Mojave?

Yeah, I haven't been impressed. Very buggy program, "recent projects" list doesn't populate, doesn't maximize on double-click, clunky managing of cross-fades, no backwards compatibility just to name...

Re: Best Cd burning Software in Mojave?

DSP Quattro user here on Mojave. Everything works, although the program itself feels kinda clunky.
I miss CD Architect.

Re: Changing Keyboard Shortcuts

The short answer is "you can't."

One way around this is using some sort of macro program, but I don't have any experience with that, maybe someone else can chime in.

All is good here, trash preferences and see if that solves it.

Re: Mac Mini i7 2018 vs. iMac i9 2019

Hm, let's focus less on the performance difference and focus more on your needs/wants.

Price? Advantage Mini. Factoring in the additional price of a new display ($1000), a "maxed-out" Mini is...

Re: ELastic audio not committing

I know this isn't a direct solution to your problem, but you could always bus the track out and bounce it to a new track in real-time (just to get it taken care of quickly).

Re: Elastic Audio Different?

Gotcha. Check to see that your tracks are set to "ticks" instead of "samples", that seems to help erratic behavior sometimes...

What exactly isn't working? What are you attempting to accomplish? Still don't have the information we need to help!

iZotope Radius is the "engine" used to run the X-Form algorithm in Elastic...

Re: Elastic Audio Different?

What do you mean when you say "doesn't operate like it used to"?

As far as I know, the only change to Elastic Audio was between Pro Tools 7.4 and Pro Tools 8.0 (and for the worse). It...

Re: Plugin Alliance insanity

Yeah, I noticed the dynamic discount only worked with plugins $49 and above.

The whole process felt kinda...dirty. Now I have one plugin I wanted and 6 others I'm indifferent towards.

I hope...

Re: Plugin Alliance insanity

I am a brand new PA user and I got the Shadow Hills compressor plus 6 other plugins for $200 total. I used the $50 voucher they sent to me and I just kept adding $50 plugins until the grand total...

Re: Plugin Alliance have gone subscription

Prices and vouchers aside, what turned me off was the censorship and deletion of negative feedback on their social media avenues. I understand not wanting a bunch of raw bashing bogging down the...

Re: What do you think of...?

Oh, the Shadow Hills sounds great, but does not seem to report latency to Pro Tools properly, so can only use on master at the moment. This, and the rumor that Plugin Alliance will go subscription on...

Re: What do you think of...?

Me: "Hey, check out this new Waves plugin I got, it tracks your face with the camera and simulates being in another room!"

Client: "Wow, hey, this is cool! Can we get back to work now?"

Re: What do you think of...?

Perhaps changing the name of the thread to relate to it's intended content would be a good start?

New Kush AR-1 sounds great, although changing the controls eventually crashes Pro Tools...

Re: Is Pro Tools Becoming "The DOS" Of DAWs?

The point is you wouldn't use Melodyne, you'd be using the pitch/timing functions inherent in the system. There wouldn't be any 3rd parties submitting algorithms because the plugins would be coded...

Re: Is Pro Tools Becoming "The DOS" Of DAWs?

No need to bounce in between DAWs, it would have its own proprietary pitch/time algorithms. Duh. :p

Re: Is Pro Tools Becoming "The DOS" Of DAWs?

I think it's a great idea!

I've worked hard to arrive at a stage where I view plugins as simple tools. I can pretty much count the number of plugins I use on two hands (I produce mainly rock/pop)....

Re: Is Pro Tools Becoming "The DOS" Of DAWs?

It would be a closed, proprietary system. Like if UA or Slate made a DAW that runs their own plugins (no third party).

Re: Is Pro Tools Becoming "The DOS" Of DAWs?

Something like Linux, stripped down and unbloated...?
