Anyone here tried the i5 or i3?

It looks like the i5 can be had for under $190 with Mobo's starting around $90.

I can up the PSU at my local Microcenter! (You were right - it's about five or six blocks from where I work my day gig in Cambridge outside of Boston.)
As for my expectations...

I built an i7 machine this week. It's a desktop system that serves as my primary home computer as well as my ProTools rig. As such, it's not completely optimized for PT but I do run it pretty lean.

I now have my parts in-hand to build an i7. I went with a Gigabyte EX58-UD3R motherboard. We have a Microcenter in Boston so I got the i7-920 for $229 and the Mobo for $204.
