Sorry, but that is not correct. The newer Xmon has been designed to work with the S-6 (Eucon), they are not interchangeable as you suggest. I did exhaustive research on this when I was looking to...

Xmon's typically fetch 3-400 these days if they are for the D-Command/Control, newer XMon's are more expensive.

Make sure it comes with an xMON. Any 9 pin serial cable will work by removing one of the pins from both sides, I'm pretty sure it was the 6 pin, but that's easily found out online.

What's driving the need to move? The only reason I could see for moving from a 5.1 Cheesegrater 12 core to a MacMini, is if you require thunderbolt. Otherwise, the 12 core is still more powerful...
