Re: Mbox 2 Mini x Mac OS Sierra HELP

Re: Living With Aging Gear

I second that. Still you could upgrade your machines memory to 16GB which would make you compatible with any new/future versions of Pro Tools anyway.
As your MacBook seems to be an I7 Quad Core...

Re: New Computer USB & USB2 Question

No, you cannot connect the 003 to your USB 3 port. There's no way to connect Firewire gear to USB.
You only could connect the 003 to a Thunderbolt port via a Thunderbolt-to-Firewire converter but...

Re: I own pro tools. Do i have to pay to upgrade?

Because upgrading to PT12 not only will mean to pay for Pro Tools 12 but also for many AAX versions of your plugins as well as for many other things you might think it over.
Even more if you say...

Re: Best Thunderbolt Interface?

From my personal experience...get the Apollo. You won't regret it.
And, you know, itīs not because of their plug ins (which are really good ones for sure). Itīs because of the UA drivers. Those are...

Re: Which Mac to buy? Mini vs Old Mac pro

No. Not really, just because itīs Pro Tools itself which wants the i7 Quad to work as it is supposed to.

You can avoid expensive SSDs and go with 7200rpm HDDs instead if you are on a budget but...

Re: Which Mac to buy? Mini vs Old Mac pro

The best bet if you want to keep it low-cost yet Pro Tools-ready
will be a 2012 Mac Mini i7 Quad (2,3GHz or 2,6GHz) with 16GB Ram.
I have followed your...
