Pro Tools 9 on a Macbook Pro Do Unused Plug Ins slow it down?
Hi all.
Got a bone head question. I know installing plug ins slows down startup? But do 3rd party plugins that are not being used in tracks slow down operation of Pro Tools or take more memory? We have a old Mac Power Book that runs Pro Tools 9 like a champ. I can record 9 tracks with out a hitch. 4 gig ram. I don't use any plug in's while recording but want to install a package for mixing. Thanks Mike |

It won’t slow it down, aside from boot time as you already mentioned.
But, they can cause instability even if not instantiated in a session. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Could it be you are running PT9 on an incompatible version of OSX?
