Difference between MC Control v1 and v2

I'm just curious. I have been searching for an hour and can't find a straight answer. Does anyone knows the difference between MC Control v1 or v2? is it just a software update?

For one, the LCD screen is of higher quality.

Here's a video explaining the differences: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1tdDRdtkCic

Basically better screen resolution, more accuracy on the knobs, different jog wheel and some color 'enhancements'. That's it.

I would like to know if there are any plans to update the MC mix's knobs to the higher quality, less friction mc control v2 knobs. It's a bit irritating to not be able to turn the knobs slow/smoothly when even the most cheap pro-audio gear has good knobs...

You should vote on my ideascale Robert G. And you can put stuff on there too.

Someone is telling me that he has an MC Control for sale and he says it is a Version 2 but the Data wheel is silver and I thought they switched to black with V 2. Does anyone know if there were any Version 2 MC Controls with Silver Data wheels or any other ways to tell just by looking at it if it's a 1 or a 2.

How big is the difference? Anyone who has used then both. I can get a v1 for 600 and put the rest of the Money toward a mix. Also, other than silver and black cases, we're their more than one version of the mix. A better way to put that, are all the silver MC mixes the same or is there a V1 and a V2 like with the Control
Thanks

There is no difference in functionality, it's just some minor hardware changes.

MC-Mix - There was a change of the knobs and also the LED's had a change in color, but they never called them v. 1 or v. 2, but when you bought silver-units earlier and later, you noticed the difference running them in the same rack - there is no other way to see this.

There are old posts a few years back regarding this.

p.s. Don't forget that if you already own an Ipad and run the App Air Display, you get an even more useful screen then the MC Control v. 2, so there are pros and cons whichever way you turn...
