EUCON 20.5.0 released

Avid is pleased to announce the release of EUCON 20.5.0 with support for Pro Tools Folder tracks, a new Layout builder on the Control App many bug fixes for S1, Control App and other EUCON surfaces. Download it from your Avid Account or the Avid Download Center. Note: The old MyArtist site is no longer updated, find instruction on it for getting access to the Download Center.

Note: A 20.5.1 version of the Control App will be coming in the next day or two with Folder track Open and Close speed improvements. This will be compatible with EuControl 20.5.0

Re: EUCON 20.5.0 released

2020.5. It installed fine on one machine, but on the other (both Win 10 Pro) I had an error on install. Now, EuControl will not start, and I cannot uninstall it. I am getting error code 1721, which is a windows installer error, but that can be anything in the registry. It does not seem to be affecting any other installs or uninstalls.

It does say something about KillApp-XMon, KillProc, etc., but KillProc is in the S6 folder, which I don't even understand being on my computer. I do not have an S6 controller (I wish), only Artist Control, two Artist Mix, and an Artist Transport. None of which are working, now.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Thanks for the quick reply Eddie! It runs until it gets to the 1721 error. Once I click off on that message, it allows me to look at details of the error, which I tried posting below, but apparently too many characters.

Essentially, the verbose logging said the setupname was bad, then rolled it back. The biggest problem is, it also broke the EuControl program.

Could it be a corrupt install file? On the first install did it just give this error and nothing else ? Not sure why the PM doesnt work for you. I'll PM you so you can reply.

I thought of that. I downloaded it direct from my account. When the install failed, I tried it through Avid Link. Both failed. The error showed:

Error 1721: There is a problem with this WIndows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. Action: KillApp_comb_XMon, location: ...\killproc.exe,comman...

That's all.

Re: EUCON 20.5.0 released

That error can be caused by many things, from a Virus checkers to a system error. I did find this solution to try though:

This Error indicates trouble with the Windows Installer's registration status inside the Operating System.

The Windows Installer program must be re-registered for functionality:

Click Start, click Run, type MSIEXEC /UNREGISTER, and then click OK. Even if you do this correctly, it may look like nothing occurs.
Click Start, click Run, type MSIEXEC /REGSERVER, and then click OK. Even if you do this correctly, it may look like nothing occurs, or you may briefly see an hourglass.
Try the installation once more
