Multi-Tool in Edit Window cursor frustration

Why oh why do I spend more time looking for it than editing, it seems such a basic on-going issue, can't it be setup to be bigger and in a bright colour:mad:

Not quite sure what you are asking/saying/moaning about because you've said very little about what your actual problem is? Finding it on the desktop? Is it specific to that tool for some reason or just general problem for you spotting any cursor?

If you are on a high resolution Mac,

Mouse Locator Agent has been useful since 30" monitors came out. And free.

Agreed that the multi-tool is almost impossible to see / find in the MIDI edit window.

I just press Command 7 and forget about it.

Thanks for your response, Ill try and be more specific.

Im in ProTools 12.8.3 running under macOS High Sierra 10.13.2 and working in the Edit Window. I am editing midi tracks and have the Smart Tool switched on. When navigating and moving around in the tracks, the cursor is insufficiently sized and/or contrasted to the back ground to see it immediately. To find it Im having to move it around and still it is not immediately visible. In appearance it is a tiny plus sign, like a crosshair and is difficult to locate particularly during playback when the playlist is moving, my solution is to stop playback, move the mouse to an arbitrary position like the top left hand corner of the screen to see it, then resume editing, its enormously frustrating and counter creative. A simple solution would be to give it a contrast size/setting as an option in preferences so a user can have it in a size/colour of their choice, I realise the accuracy of the cursor position is important but the tiny crosshair in the centre can still be used for pinpointing the edit, just make the surround a bit bigger and a different colour, I thank you for your patience if you read this far

Best regards

Yes, in accessibility options, the cursor size can be increased. It does tend to look "blurry" that way, though.

The little app I linked to earlier is also a solution. You can assign a command key to make the locator halo to show up (by default it is ctrl+space bar.) I find that more precise since the cursor is still the same size but if moving between multiple monitors (especially hi-res 4k-5k), you can find the cursor even if it is on the wrong screen.

It's just to help you find it then it shrinks back down to normal size

Avid ProTools enhancement please! As the cursor when using the smart tool in midi tracks is almost invisible, why not simply put a circle around the crosshairs

I battle with this issue every day and its surely easy to fix

I use this: http://www.coderace.net/mypointlight/en/index.html Put it on a hot key and you'll never lose your cursor again.
