Multiple Audio Interfaces

I have a Digi 002R and a M-Audio Firewire 410. Would I be able to connect both via firewire or daisy chain them through firewire and use the M-Audio interface effectively as a mic pre or similar to get more inputs?

You could connect the Maudio via Optical or S/PDIF COAX Stereo out to the DIGI 002R in. This would give you the ability to use the two Pres on the MAUDIO going out digitally to the DIGI002R. This is what I do with my MOTU 828MKII to the DIGI02R. Gives me the pres on the MOTU and digital out from the Motu into the DIGI rack. I leave the DIGI rack as the CLOCK master and set the Motu to EXTERNAL clock via the connection Im using, SPDIF OPTICAL OR COAX. The MAUDIO will only give you a stereo digital out. Hope this helps. Personally, Id ditch the MAUDIO and get another 8 channel PRE and lightpipe it into the DIGI to give you 18 inputs, 16 pres-8 from the DIGI, 8 from the external pre and 2 from the SDPIF connection. Thats the best way to hook them up IMO. You can use your CONSOLE on the MAUDIO to monitor the inut fromt he PREs on it and the DIGITAL output going to the DIGI RACK as well with no latency, I do this with my MOTU as well. MOTU makes an 8PRE, Presons has a selection of 8 chanel pres to choose from as well. HOpe this helps some
