Commit slowness

Committing even a short clip (say 5 secs) summons the beach ball for 20-60 secs, then it comes good after a worrying pause.

Never seen this before 2019.5.

Anyone else seeing this?

Commit has been working as normal here. Need more details. System spec, plugins involved etc.

Re: Commit slowness

I actually think commit and offline bounce is working quicker for me since 2019.5. I may be imagining it, but it definitely feels faster.

As mentioned above, system info and what plugins are you using on the track being committed?

Re: Commit slowness

I had this problem with a session with a rewire input in it, from Soundminer in my case.

Once I removed that input and changed to a hardwired audio in, commit is super-fast.

Do you have anything like that in your session?

Not seeing any issues here either with either single or multiple track commits.

Re: Commit slowness

Pro Tools 2019.5 Native
10.13.6 High Sierra
32Gb RAM
3.5GHz 6-core Intel Xeon E5
AVID Quartet
Waves, Slate, Plug In Alliance, Boz Digital + many other plug ins.

This is just an exciting new bonus that 2019.5 has brought me - same session in 2018.12 does not have the problem. Nothing else on my system has changed, hence the frustration.

Not expecting a resolution here, just wondering if the commit thing was happening else where. It happens with various plug-ins but is of course slower when there's lots of them.
