Change meter in an audio file

Excuse me for a certainly incongruous and perhaps out of sense question: it's possible to change meter in an audio file (for instance from a 4/4 to 7/5) in some way? I am able to accomplish all the change metro events I placed on the meter ruler on a click track (but this is obvius using it a Midi protocol). Thanks niky

Yes you're right - that doesn't make any sense. What are you trying to do??

Are you looking for help with "irrational" time signatures (i.e. 7/5)?

As an possible example... A beat in 4/5 could be noted as a typical quarter note, and four quarter notes complete the bar. However, the whole bar uses only 4/5 of the referenced whole note, and a beat is 1/5 of one 'or 4/5 of a typical quarter note'. Or are you looking to flag a note to show that it is in fact, one fifth of a whole note?

Re: Change meter in an audio file

my request born from my interest for polirhythm; it could have been a great help the possibility to change the rhythm in two tracks playng at the same time, for instance one i 4/4 the other in 3/4, with major accents not coincident, and have through the precision of Pro Tools the exact taste of polirhythm thus resulting. But I suspect that probably it's impossible in a sampled music that is therefore already so, change the length of notes (i.e. the metro) or the strenght of notes (i.e. the accent)
